What you can do
Close a charging session from its actual result
The Charging Coordinator records an EV charging session against the load and operating organization. The session carries its vehicle identifier, start date, energy in kilowatt-hours and ending state of charge. These details give the Operations Reviewer a concrete case to inspect before the session is treated as completed charging work.
An actual charger receipt is required for verified closure. The receipt needs to support the session the team is closing, including the vehicle and relevant energy result. Ending charge helps the team understand the recorded session outcome, while any range estimate still needs an operating assumption. A charge percentage alone does not establish that the vehicle can complete a particular route.
How the work is organized
- Capture the session. The Charging Coordinator prepares Draft work with the load, vehicle identifier and recorded energy details. Keep the operating organization consistent with the parent load.
- Submit the evidence. Attach the actual charger receipt through the agreed load-evidence path and submit the session for review. Use a useful title and visibility choice so the reviewer can locate the supporting record.
- Verify before closing. The Operations Reviewer compares the submitted revision with the receipt and approves or rejects it. A session reaches Completed only after the actual receipt has been matched to the work being closed.
What to agree during setup
Agree how a charger receipt identifies the vehicle and session. The identifier entered on the charging record needs a consistent mapping to the fleet’s vehicle identity. Decide who resolves a receipt whose vehicle name differs from the fleet record and how the reviewer records the result of that investigation.
Set the measurement basis for energy purchases separately from the session energy. Purchase records can include volume, unit cost and total amount, so staff need to know the units used by the source. Agree the external source for range estimates and the assumptions dispatch considers; keep that estimate separate from verified charger evidence.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Use an illustrative session showing 42 kilowatt-hours supplied and an ending state of charge of 80 percent. The Charging Coordinator links the session to the delivery load and supplies the actual receipt. The Operations Reviewer checks that the receipt belongs to the intended vehicle and supports the recorded session result.
Attempt closure with a receipt from another vehicle, then with no receipt. Neither case should be accepted as verified completion. After matching the correct evidence, finish the review and inspect the session status. Ask the Dispatcher to check vehicle readiness and the route’s operating assumptions separately. A completed charge does not remove an unresolved defect or turn estimated range into a delivery guarantee.
