What you can do

Keep reservations attached to the event

Each admission line belongs to an event and carries a line number, quantity, revision and optional attendee reference. Reservation time, admission time, price and provider receipt can be read alongside that parent event. This makes the event’s capacity the common limit for the team issuing admission and the team at the door.

An open event is the operating context for admission. The reservation action checks the authenticated organization, event identity, expected revision and actor scope before writing. An operation receipt records each guarded attempt with its stable key and result. A reservation counts as completed only when a verified provider capture exists. A provider reference written on a line alone is not a confirmed payment effect.

How the work is organized

  • Reserve. Admission Staff create a line against an open event, checking its capacity and the verified capture.
  • Admit. The same line receives an admission time exactly once when the attendee enters.
  • Reconcile. Operations Manager compares admitted quantities with verified provider captures before closing the event.

What to agree during setup

Decide how line quantity represents places and how staff identify a line at the entrance. Agree who can reserve capacity and who can mark a line admitted. Set a procedure for an uncertain provider result: the staff member should retain the original request and ask Operations Manager to reconcile it. Do not turn a new scan or button press into a second admission time.

Use an event with limited capacity for rehearsal. Reserve a portion of its capacity, try a reservation that would exceed the remaining places and inspect the outcome. Then admit a line and scan it again. The second scan should return the existing accepted result. That protects the entry count and gives the door team a clear answer.

Check the handoff on an actual case

An event opens with a known capacity. Admission Staff reserve places for an attendee reference after a provider capture is verified. The admission line shows its quantity and reservation time. At the door, staff record entry on that same line. Operations Manager later sees which reserved lines have an admission time and can compare their quantities with captured payment evidence.

If the event is cancelled after entry, the admitted line remains part of the history. The cancellation releases unused admission scope and prepares reviewed refund evidence where appropriate. It does not erase the entry or label a prepared refund as completed money movement. The provider remains the source for that effect.

What your team sees

  • Admission lines — Inspect reserved places, attendee reference and actual entry time for one event.
  • Open events — Find the events whose admission work is underway.

Follow the work through

Follow admission and closure for the reservation, scan and reconciliation path. Review correction and cancellation for a changed booking.
