Ask Proto about the next task

Use Proto to prepare field records and review the next decision.

It can

  • Farm Manager: Ask for planned tasks on a field and the crop cycle attached to each.
  • Field Operator: Ask which assigned work is due and which field needs the visit.
  • Stock Keeper: Ask for lots with an expiry date and their current quantity on hand.
  • Harvest Reviewer: Ask for the dated harvest record, quantity, unit and grade for a cycle.

Stays with a person

  • A person approves field work and reviews harvest evidence.
  • Proto can prepare the linked records for that decision, but the responsible person checks the current field, cycle, lot or harvest before proceeding.
  • Review the records and metered agent usage in your ERP.AI account.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Farm Management System.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Farm Management System for your business. Begin with one field, one crop cycle, an assigned task, a current input lot and a dated harvest record.

What is a crop cycle?

A crop cycle links a named crop and variety to a field. It carries planting and harvest dates and moves through planned, planted, growing, harvesting and closed stages.

How is field work assigned?

A field task connects its task type and due date to a field, crop cycle and person. The operator can follow the assigned work in My Field Tasks.

Who approves field work?

Farm Manager reviews planned work. Approval starts checks on the live field, cycle, assigned person and input lot before consumption is recorded.

How are input lots tracked?

Each stock lot carries an input name, lot number, unit, quantity on hand and expiry date. Usage ties consumed quantity to the lot and field task.

What appears on the crop cycle screen?

The Crop Cycles screen has a stage board, field, stage and intake-period filters, a chronological cycle list and harvest evidence.

How is harvested quantity recorded?

Harvests carry the dated measured quantity, unit and grade for a linked crop cycle. Harvest Reviewer checks the current record.

Can we record field observations?

Yes. Field Observations record a date, type, measured value, unit and notes with the field.

How do field boundaries fit?

A boundary record links surveyed geometry, survey date and area to a field. Agree the survey source and the owner of changes during setup.

How do we control access?

Use the roles and linked People and Users records to assign responsibility. Rehearse the permissions with a field task and harvest before a wider rollout.
