What you can do
Start with the case
Evidence is entered against a service case with a line number and revision. The source reference, occurrence time, measured value and unit explain what was observed. Verification time is separate from occurrence time so a later review does not change the original event.
Each evidence line belongs to a case and has a line number and revision. The source reference identifies where a measurement came from; the occurrence time tells when it happened. The measured value and unit can describe affected or restored scope, while verification time is a separate later observation. These details let a reviewer compare the source event with the reported case rather than accepting an unlabeled number.
For a restoration report, the Evidence Clerk can link the source event to the affected case and retain its unit. The Independent Reviewer checks whether that event belongs to the same organization and current case revision. An ambiguous source is returned for clarification with the earlier line and decision kept in the case history.
How the work is organized
- Source. Identify the organization and service case before entering the next fact.
- Responsibility. Keep the owner and reviewer visible at each handoff.
- Result. Use the case status or receipt result to show what has actually happened.
What to agree during setup
Agree which source references are authoritative for each operation and which units are valid for affected scope. Decide who may upload attachments and whether each file is Internal or Shared. The independent reviewer needs enough detail to compare the evidence with the case revision.
Agree which source references are accepted for each kind of evidence and which units make a measurement meaningful. The reviewer needs to see the case, source, time and unit together. Choose who may file a line and who may verify it. If an attachment supports the line, link it to the same parent case and select its visibility deliberately.
Check the handoff on an actual case
For a case with measured restoration evidence, compare the source event, unit and timestamp with the affected units. Check that each line belongs to the same case and current revision. Return an ambiguous reading for clarification; retain the original evidence and the reviewer reason.
Record a measured event against a reported case with its source reference, occurrence time and unit. Ask the Independent Reviewer to compare the line with the case revision and the original affected units. Try another line with a missing or conflicting source and return it with a reason. Keep the original observation visible after correction so the next person can explain the decision.
What your team sees
- Service Evidence Register — Inspect evidence lines, measurement units and source references by case.
