What you can do
Service work in daily work
A service check gives the team a task number, check type, due date, checked date, facility, booking and assigned person. Front Desk Agent can capture service work during a stay while Property Manager sees the queue across facilities. Staff can distinguish cleaning from maintenance and guest service without losing the reservation context.
A task starts open, can be assigned and worked, and ends completed. The assigned-person reference links the worker responsible for the check; the staff record links to a user. The due date helps the shift prioritize work. A completed check should carry the checked date so a later complaint can be traced to what was inspected and when.
How the work is organized
- Service type. Select cleaning, maintenance or guest service on the check.
- Assignment. Link the check to a person, facility and booking.
- Progress. Keep open, assigned, in progress and completed work distinct.
What to agree during setup
Agree when to create a check at arrival and checkout, who assigns it, and who reviews a completed inspection. Separate routine cleaning from a maintenance hold so an unresolved fault cannot be hidden by a completed cleaning task. Confirm that each working staff member has an active staff record linked to the correct user.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Take a confirmed booking with a room that needs a pre-arrival check. Front Desk Agent records an open check due before arrival and assigns it to the responsible person. That person records progress and the checked date. Property Manager reviews the completed work before check-in. At checkout, repeat the case with a cleaning inspection and keep the facility in cleaning until the inspection passes.
At shift change, the next desk agent should be able to see work that is open or in progress without searching each booking separately. Use the due date to spot tasks that matter before an arrival. The person named on a check should match the worker who will record its outcome, and a completed check should have a checked date. If an inspection fails, Property Manager should keep the facility in its current unavailable state while another cleaning or maintenance check is arranged.
