What you can do

Keep the decision attached to the record

Give missing evidence and unresolved compliance work an owner and due date. The work starts with source engagement, assigned person and due date. The team checks resolution and completion date before passing the record to the next person. Compliance Reviewer keeps the operational context close to the assignment; Engagement Owner can inspect the related record before making a change. The page is a place to work from actual records, including an owner and a date, instead of a separate status report.

How the work is organized

  • Name the work. Link the action to the engagement and state what needs correction.
  • Assign it. Give a person a due date and keep progress on that same action.
  • Close with evidence. Record the resolution and completion date before marking it complete.

What to agree during setup

Agree who prepares an engagement, who checks evidence, and who can make the final decision. Set the organization and People records before the first assignment. Decide which contractor profile applies, how an agreed rate and its unit will be entered, and which dates the team will use to monitor an assignment. A status change should follow the underlying review, with the decision recorded against the revision that was actually inspected.

Decide how your team keeps source documents. Evidence Documents have an external reference, document date, verification flag and verifier. Make that reference usable to the reviewer. Also agree what counts as a complete follow-up action: an assignee, due date, resolution and completion date let the next person judge whether a problem was addressed.

Check the handoff on an actual case

An insurance document needs correction before review. The Compliance Reviewer opens an action against the engagement, assigns it to a named person and records a due date. The owner can see the action beside the current assignment and bring the corrected evidence back for inspection. The team then reopens the source engagement and checks the linked records. The next person should be able to identify the current owner, the dates and the reason for the decision without relying on an email thread. If a term or document changes, compare the current source revision with the recorded review before moving forward.

Run the same case from the next person’s screen. Check that the right assignment appears, its related item opens, and the status matches the recorded decision. Try a returned or rejected outcome as well as the normal path. The owner should know what to correct, and the reviewer should be able to inspect the corrected record rather than an unconnected note.
