Retail stock teams
Retail stock teams need to distinguish a request for goods from stock that has actually been reserved and moved. Inventory Allocation Engine records the requested item and locations, the supervisor's decision and the lot claim supporting the work. Store systems and ecommerce demand feeds are connections to configure with stable identifiers and clear responsibility for the handoff.
How Inventory Allocation Engine is set up for you
Keep locations understandable
Inventory Clerk maintains the location code, address and eligibility note. Confirm which location and counterparty location represent the case before moving stock. Similar branch names cannot replace the actual reference identities.
Review demand before execution
Inventory Supervisor checks the requested units and required date against the current revision. Discuss the relevant channel guidance and retain why the quantity was authorized. Changed demand should return to the supervisor before the clerk acts on a different scope.
Separate holds from effects
A Held reservation protects eligible lot quantity against competing work. The movement ledger records the actual posted signed effect. Rehearse the receive-or-move case and inspect its resulting balance so the next shift can explain what happened.
Handle cancellation visibly
Authorized cancellation releases held claims. A request cancellation does not prove that a posted movement was compensated, so keep the physical case and the stock evidence available for supervisor review.

Use a warehouse and a representative store location, with a SKU whose base unit everyone understands. Prepare competing requests, a shortfall and a quantity correction. Confirm the lot selected for each operation and compare the before-and-after balances to the actual movement result.
Agree how retail staff communicate order changes and who resolves a failed operation receipt. Keep external messaging disabled until its retry and reconciliation behavior is tested. The first cycle should show that repeating an accepted request does not add another reservation or stock effect, and that Auditor can explain a cancellation without losing its earlier history.
