Ask Proto to prepare the next review

Use Proto to prepare records, review exceptions and rehearse the farm's operating rules.

It can

  • Pasture Manager: Show planned tasks on Restricted paddocks and cycles approaching their expected production date.
  • Field Operator: Find an assigned task and the linked paddock before recording actual work.
  • Feed Custodian: Compare the lot unit, expiry and on-hand value with a proposed feeding task.
  • Production Reviewer: Gather the cycle, completed tasks and dated output for acceptance review.

Stays with a person

  • People decide whether to approve work, accept output and resolve a disputed measurement.
  • Proto can prepare the case and help configure the records, but its answer does not replace the named person's decision or actual field evidence.

  4. Run the work

Review task approval, completion, feed use and observations with the field team.

  5. Accept output

Record actual produced quantity and grade, name the reviewer and review the cycle close.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Livestock Management.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Livestock Management for your business. Pilot one pasture cycle with a named manager, operator, feed lot and production reviewer.

How are paddocks identified?

Each pasture has a name, field code, location, area and availability status. Agree one code convention before importing older work.

Can I keep surveyed boundaries?

Yes. Link boundary geometry, survey date and measured area to the corresponding pasture, then review any difference from its operating area.

How is work approved?

A manager reviews a planned task's pasture, cycle, assignee and due date before recording Approved. The operator records actual progress and completion separately.

Where do feed quantities go?

A feed lot holds its on-hand quantity and unit. A usage record connects the consumed quantity and date to the lot and the pasture task.

What is a feed application?

It is a dated entry for feed applied to a pasture, with quantity, unit and a named applicator. Agree how it relates to a separate lot usage entry.

How do we record field measurements?

Record the observation date, type, measured value, unit and notes against the pasture. Use consistent types and units when comparing readings.

How is production accepted?

The production record links a cycle to the actual date, quantity, unit, grade and accepting team member. The reviewer checks the field evidence before acceptance.

Can one pasture have several cycles?

Cycles link to a pasture and retain their own dates, stage, tasks and production records. Agree when a new cycle begins and how overlapping work is handled.

Who can change access?

Admin maintains the user and team member links. Rehearse access with a real task and production result before expanding use.
