What you can do
Make the decision traceable
The order review queue brings the current order, its size and color lines and any support exceptions into one decision. Order Reviewer checks the account, selected variants, quantities, value and reason for a hold. The decision record retains the source order, revision, time, rationale and owner. That makes a Returned or Rejected result more useful than a bare status: the order desk can see what must be corrected before another review.
The manual review action writes a decision and an operation receipt. A passing review marks the order Approved. An existing decision for the same selected scope is a reason to inspect the history before repeating the action. The review should refer to the exact order revision that was presented, because changes to lines or account details can change the commercial decision.
How the work is organized
- Queue. Order Reviewer works from orders marked Review and examines linked exceptions.
- Decision. Record an Approved or Returned result with a clear rationale for the revision.
- Evidence. Keep receipts and relevant order attachments linked to the source order.
What to agree during setup
Name the people who prepare orders and the people who decide them. Agree which checks must pass before an order can be approved: buyer identity, line mix, wholesale unit prices, requested ship date and open exceptions. Decide when an exception needs escalation instead of a routine return to the order desk. Document how a changed order revision reaches a fresh review.
Attachments can carry fit sheets, packing lists or return authorizations. Their names and evidence types should make them findable from the order. A document link supplements the decision; it does not replace a rationale in the decision record. Use the receipt to confirm which operation ran and whether the outcome was recorded.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Suppose a footwear order requests a size mix that conflicts with an open stock shortage exception. The reviewer opens the order, checks the line variants and reads the exception detail. They return the order with a rationale that names the affected size. The order desk corrects the line mix or addresses the exception, then presents the next revision for a decision. When the reviewer approves the corrected scope, the resulting decision and receipt point back to the source order. The team can distinguish that approval from the earlier return.
