What you can do

Run the work

A decision records the source request, owner, revision, outcome and reason. A receipt records the operation key, event, quantity, status and failure reason where relevant. The auditor can follow a request from the reviewed revision to its stock effects and verification result. Attachments retain photos, documents, signatures or manifests against the same request.

How the work is organized

  • Prepare. Inventory Supervisor records the request decision at its current revision. Operation receipts keep the source request, operation key, outcome and failure reason when applicable. Auditor traces the decision and subsequent stock effect through those references.
  • Set up. Agree how reviewers record a reason for rejection, return or escalation and who investigates Failed receipts. Keep stable request identifiers and operation keys when importing earlier results. Record attachments against the relevant stock requests record, with a usable document link when the document lives elsewhere. Set organization and team member time zones before comparing decision and receipt dates.
  • Check. Keep the current record available to the next person before they change its state.

What to agree during setup

Agree how reviewers record a reason for rejection, return or escalation and who investigates Failed receipts. Keep stable request identifiers and operation keys when importing earlier results. Record attachments against the relevant stock requests record, with a usable document link when the document lives elsewhere. Set organization and team member time zones before comparing decision and receipt dates.

Check the first operating cycle with the assigned roles. Keep record identifiers stable when moving existing data so the next shift can recover the same case. Use the chosen location and item names consistently. Review the permitted states with the clerk and supervisor, then retain each earlier result when a later action corrects it.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Submit a request for review, then have Inventory Supervisor decide its current revision. Auditor opens Review Decisions Register to read the source request, owner, reason and decision date. Run a reservation with insufficient free quantity and find its Failed receipt by source record in Failed Operation Receipts. Correct the quantity, rerun using the intended operation key, and compare the retained outcomes without overwriting the earlier evidence.

Ask the next person to locate the same record and explain its current state, owner and next action. Where an action writes a receipt, inspect that result before retrying. Keep any failed result visible for the supervisor and auditor, and use the relevant record’s current revision for another decision.

What your team sees

  • Returned and Escalated Decisions — Shows the record identity and current state for the next action.
  • Failed Operation Receipts — Shows the related record or exception for the handoff.
