Prepare the next field decision

Ask Proto to prepare field and harvest reviews for the people who decide.

It can

  • Plantation Manager: Ask for fields marked Restricted and the open tasks linked to each current crop cycle.
  • Field Operator: Ask for assigned work due this week and the stock lot attached to an application.
  • Stores Clerk: Ask for input lots approaching expiry and compare linked usage with issued quantity; flag any lot that cannot supply the approved task.
  • Harvest Reviewer: Ask for harvest entries by crop cycle, grade, unit and accepting person.

Stays with a person

  • People decide whether a field is safe for work, whether a planned task is approved and whether a harvest quantity is accepted.
  • Proto can bring the relevant records together and prepare changes for review.
  • It should not substitute an inferred measurement, grade or lot number for a field record.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Map fields

Agree field codes, area, location and status with the people who manage the land. Add plantation blocks with variety, planting year and tree count.

  2. Set the current cycle

Record a crop, variety, planting date and expected harvest for a pilot field. Check the field and block references.

  3. Assign work and stock

Link active People to users, load the relevant input lots and plan tasks for the pilot cycle.

  4. Rehearse field activity

Review approval, application quantity, lot attribution, observation capture and task completion with the people responsible.

  5. Review harvest

Capture a block round and crop harvest, identify the accepting person, compare units and close the cycle after open work is resolved.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Plantation Management.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Plantation Management for your business. Begin with one field, its current crop cycle, a planted block and the people responsible for field work and harvest review.

How are plantation blocks organized?

Each block belongs to a field and records variety, planting year and tree count. Harvest rounds point to the block they came from.

Can I plan a crop before planting?

Yes. A crop cycle can begin Planned with its field, crop, variety and expected harvest date. Record the planted date as the cycle progresses.

How do supervisors see open work?

Open Field Tasks lists planned, approved and in-progress tasks with their field, cycle, assignee and due date. The board shows task status.

Who approves field tasks?

Plantation Manager reviews a planned assignment and decides when it is Approved. Agree that responsibility during setup.

How are input lots traced?

Executing an Approved task on an eligible field and cycle links the applied quantity and date to the first-expiry eligible input stocks lot. The lot balance falls once before the task becomes Completed. Stores Clerk can compare the lot number, unit and issued quantity.

What does a harvest round record?

A round belongs to a plantation block and records harvest date, weight in kilograms, grade and crew lead.

How is a crop harvest different from a round?

A crop harvest belongs to a crop cycle, with quantity, unit, grade and accepting person. A block round reports weight for a particular block.

Can I review yield by field?

Crop cycles carry accepted harvest quantity and yield per hectare together with field area. Check the unit and date range before comparing cycles.

Where do field measurements go?

Field Observations Log shows dated observations with type, value, unit and notes against the field.
