What you can do

Record what the field team saw

A field observation belongs to a field and carries an observation date, type, measured value, unit and notes. It is a direct field record. An agronomy reviewer can compare successive readings for the same field before recommending a change in the work plan. The date and unit matter: a value without its unit cannot be compared safely with earlier measurements, and a late entry can distort the sequence of events if its observed date is wrong.

The crop cycle provides a second view of the same land. It shows the planted crop and variety, status, expected and actual harvest dates, accepted harvest quantity and yield per hectare. The block shows its variety, planting year, tree count and total round weight. These are related measures with different grain. The manager should compare each measure with the right field, cycle, block and period rather than folding them into one unlabeled total.

How the work is organized

  • Field readings. Field Operator records observations with date, type, value, unit and explanatory notes.
  • Agronomy review. Agronomy Reviewer checks readings against the field’s status and the current crop cycle.
  • Yield review. Plantation Manager compares cycle yield, accepted harvest quantity and block round weights after checking scope and units.

What to agree during setup

Set a small vocabulary for observation types and units, including who verifies unusual measurements. Decide when an observation should lead to a new inspection or feeding task and who makes that decision. Agree the unit and area basis used to interpret yield per hectare. The field’s area is the reference for cycle yield, while block tree count serves a different purpose. Define a correction practice for readings entered against the wrong field or date. Choose a review cadence that matches the growing cycle rather than waiting until harvest is complete.

Check the handoff on an actual case

An operator observes a change in North Ridge while a cycle is Growing. Record the observation against that field with the measurement, unit and observed date. The reviewer compares it with earlier entries and the cycle’s expected harvest date, then requests an inspection task if needed. After harvest, the manager reviews accepted crop quantity and yield per hectare alongside the block’s round weight. A large difference prompts a check of date range, units and record links before anyone changes the field plan. This keeps an agronomic note, a completed task and a harvest outcome traceable to their own records.

What your team sees

  • Field Observations Log — Read dated measurements and notes by field and observation type.
  • Crop Cycles Overview — Place observations beside crop, date and status.
  • Harvest Rounds Log — Review block weight as a separate harvest measure.
