Ask Proto about the next handoff

Ask Proto to prepare production checks for the named decision makers.

It can

  • Producer: List open production work due before the next planned episode release.
  • Editor: Bring the current content file and linked rights agreement into the review queue.
  • Editor: List pending receipts for scheduled episodes with their linked content status.

Stays with a person

  • The Editor approves the current file version after checking rights coverage.
  • The Editor makes the publication decision after confirmed platform evidence is available.
  • Proto can organize the linked records and explain the status chain, but those decisions stay with the people who own them.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Agree the operating scope

Choose one active series, the next episode and the people who own production, editorial review, rights and publication.

  2. Map existing records

Identify project owners, content items, current file versions, rights agreements, episode audio and platform identifiers.

  3. Configure a bounded pilot

Enter one project and link its tasks, costs, content, episode and agreements.

  4. Rehearse the decisions

Review a changed file version, an agreement whose dates do not cover the planned use and a pending platform receipt.

  5. Reconcile and release

Confirm the episode and content status, check receipts against platform acknowledgment and obtain the named owners’ acceptance.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Podcast Management for your business. Pilot one active series and a coming episode with its project, content review and platform receipt.

What does the project record cover?

It carries the owner, start and due dates, budget and lifecycle status for a production cycle. Tasks, costs and content link back to it.

How does an episode connect to editorial review?

The episode links to its operational content item. The content item carries editorial status and current file revisions.

Can we review a new file after an earlier approval?

Yes. Keep each attached file version with its upload date and reviewer. Review the current revision with its rights coverage.

Where do rights agreements go?

An agreement links to a content item and holds the party, permitted uses, dates and contract attachment.

How do we track delivery by platform?

Each distribution receipt links to an episode and carries a platform, external identifier, publish time and status.

When is publication recorded?

The Editor checks approved content and confirmed distribution evidence before recording publication.

Can a producer track assigned work?

Production tasks link to the project and an assigned person, with a due date and current work status.

How are costs reviewed?

Project costs carry a date, category, amount and status against a project budget.

Where do hosting and RSS fit?

Choose an audio host and feed publisher as separate services. Use the episode record and distribution receipts to reconcile their release identifiers.
