Ask from current records

Help each team member work from the edition's current records.

It can

  • Editor: Show the edition project's stories in review, their owners and due dates.
  • Reporter: Find assigned desk work and the corresponding content items for the current edition.
  • Rights Reviewer: Summarize the current file revision and linked agreement dates before a human decision.
  • Production Lead: List tasks still open or in review against the project.

Stays with a person

  • The assistant can explain linked records and prepare a decision.
  • A named reviewer approves a file revision, and an Editor makes the publication decision after current approval and rights checks.
  • A route capture needs a permitted actor and source evidence for its copy values.

Scope, rollout and pricing for Print Media / Newspaper.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Print Media / Newspaper for your business. Pilot one edition with a project owner, desk assignments, current stories, rights agreements, production tasks and a circulation route.

How does the desk assign a reporter?

Create an editorial assignment with an edition date, desk, story title, deadline and Reporter. The Reporter can find it on Assignment Board.

Where does a story move through review?

Use the content item for the story's owner, project, due date and status. Content Pipeline shows its progress, including items in review.

What exactly receives approval?

A named reviewer approves the current content file revision after the linked story, project, identity, lifecycle and rights checks pass.

What happens if a file changes after approval?

The new revision needs its own review. The Editor checks that the approved revision is still current before publication.

How are rights checked?

The linked agreement records the party, allowed uses, start and end dates and contract. Review coverage at file approval and again when publishing.

What does publication record?

The publication action changes approved content to published, records the acknowledged publication date and closes related production tasks.

Can we follow production costs?

Yes. Costs link to projects and carry a date, category, amount and draft, approved or paid state. Compare them with the project budget.

How do we record circulation?

The Circulation Manager captures a route with edition date, route name, dispatched copies and returned copies linked to an operational content item.

How do we review a whole edition?

Start with Project Register, then inspect its stories, production tasks, costs and route evidence. Use the reports for status, deadlines, expenses and circulation values.
