Component manufacturers
A component manufacturer needs to explain which design change was reviewed and how the resulting work reached accepted output. Start with the item identity, submitted drawing revision and responsible reviewer. Connect that engineering context to the work order, actual material lot and batch disposition. Agree the manufacturing instruction handoff with Production Planner before releasing affected work.
How Product Lifecycle Mgmt (PLM) is set up for you
Controlled drawings
Product Engineer submits the file with its product, revision and document type. Keep original source evidence when a correction is required and exercise the duplicate-identity refusal before using repeated imports. Engineering Reviewer needs the exact basis originally submitted.
Reviewed changes
Engineering Reviewer decides the change using its old and new revisions and intended effective date. Inspect Approved and Implemented separately so the team can identify reviewed scope still awaiting its operating action.
Lot-specific consumption
Inventory Controller posts material only against eligible free stock for the same item and lot. Location and reservation context matter when similar lot labels appear in separate balances. Replay a successful posting and check the original deduction.
Accepted output
Operator records good and scrap quantities during a valid interval. Quality Inspector examines Pending output before release; Held and Rejected remain excluded. Inventory Controller reconciles the accepted receipt using the actual release evidence.

Pilot a component with a drawing correction and related production cycle. Use Approved customer demand, an Available resource and material balances the team can explain. Include a duplicate design submission, an insufficient-stock refusal and a Pending sibling batch. Ask the planner to identify the manufacturing instructions from the reviewed evidence before release.
Design repository and receiving connections are setup choices. Agree their owners and source identities before enabling them. The engineer, inventory controller and inspector should retrieve the same product and work-order context when explaining what changed, what stock was consumed and which output was accepted. Resolve disagreement during the pilot while the source evidence is available.

Features to start with
Roles on the team
- Product Engineer
- Prepares product-linked design submissions and engineering change evidence.
- Engineering Reviewer
- Reviews immutable design evidence and decides the engineering change outcome.
- Production Planner
- Maintains customer order context and feasible production plans, then runs the validated release action.
- Inventory Controller
- Prepares and posts eligible lot-based material issues and reconciles stock effects.
- Operator
- Records production intervals attributed through the authenticated account and its linked person.
- Quality Inspector
- Decides which pending batches are accepted and invokes the controlled output-release action.
