Connections and source ownership

Agree where demand, stock and production inputs come from before enabling their connections.

  • Production Dashboard
  • Demand and purchasing source
  • Stock source
  • Machine or shop floor feed
  • Alert delivery

Systems to connect

Set up each required connection with a named source owner, field mapping and tested operating outcome.

  • Demand and purchasing source. Map customer and supplier identities with their order lines. Agree who owns order approval and amendment evidence before production release relies on the demand record.
  • Stock source. Reconcile item, location, lot, unit and reserved quantities with the system that owns stock. Agree how an accepted local material issue reaches that source without creating another withdrawal.
  • Machine or shop floor feed. Set up any required feed against the intended production interval or shift population. Verify the resource, product, target and actor basis before admitting live records.
  • Alert delivery. Choose a provider, recipients and trigger basis if the team wants notifications about missing output or target gaps. Rehearse delivery against accepted evidence before enabling the channel.

How connections are governed

Give each connection an operating owner, stable source identity and rejection policy. Store credentials in the approved secret store and limit service access to the agreed scope. Identify how approved source evidence enters the production action, how retries are reconciled and which system owns the resulting balance.

Rehearse duplicate delivery, a changed target reference, an unresolved item and a provider timeout. Inspect the source acknowledgment before claiming that an external handoff succeeded. Preserve accepted and rejected evidence so the team can reconcile the outcome without replaying protected quantity effects.

Agree the implementation boundary and inspect record references.
