What you can do

A request has a durable result

Guarded actions leave operation receipts. Each receipt records an operation key, action, expected revision, result state and occurrence date. It can also carry an external reference, effect references and a failure reason. These fields give the Sales Manager and Auditor a trail from a qualification, listing action or customer outcome to the effect that actually persisted.

The same operation key protects a request from being applied twice. An equivalent retry returns the original result; a conflicting retry under the same key is refused. When a result is uncertain, reconciliation reads the linked effects first. It marks a receipt Completed only if the expected local effects match. An uncertain external state or discrepancy becomes needs review, where a person can investigate it without reissuing an external execution.

How the work is organized

  • Stable request identity. The operation key links attempts to one intended action and parent opportunity.
  • Revision check. The expected revision tells the operator which source version the action was meant to affect.
  • Read-first reconciliation. Staff inspect persisted effects and exceptions before changing the receipt’s result state.

What to agree during setup

Agree which staff investigate failed or needs-review receipts and what evidence they need to close one. Define how an action’s operation key is generated and retained across retries. Decide which external publication destination, if any, supplies a reference for the listing action. Make a procedure for checking that destination when its result is unclear; the receipt alone does not establish that an outside system changed. Keep the person who reviews a listing separate from the person who prepared it.

Prepare a successful action, a repeated request with the same key, a conflicting request with that key and an uncertain result. The team should know where to find the parent opportunity, matching review decision and relevant listing revision before treating an exception as resolved.

Check the handoff on an actual case

A Relationship Owner submits an authorized listing action and the Sales Manager approves the current revision. The action writes a receipt with its operation key. The owner’s browser repeats the request after a slow response. Instead of creating another listing effect, the repeated request returns the result already recorded. Later, an external destination responds ambiguously. The receipt remains Pending or needs review while the Sales Manager checks the destination reference and the linked local listing. If those effects do not match, the manager records the discrepancy for investigation. The team does not trigger another external publication simply because a receipt is unresolved.

What your team sees

  • Operation Receipts Ledger — Every guarded action with its key, expected revision and result.
  • Operations Overview — The aggregate listing book and its exception queue.

Follow the work through

Operation reconciliation covers exception handling. Listing review and publication shows where the request starts. Plan connections.
