Defense program quality
A defense program quality team needs a readable path from a reviewed inspection to the quality work it triggers. The inspection holds its subject, type and assigned person. Linked checks carry characteristic results. A rejected scope creates a nonconformance in containment, and corrective actions retain the root cause, plan, owner and effectiveness stage.
How Aerospace and Defense QMS is set up for you
Program inspection
Use the subject reference and inspection number consistently across inspected assemblies.
Containment
Review severity and description on the nonconformance linked to the rejected inspection.
Corrective work
Follow assigned actions and due dates until effectiveness is reviewed.
Instruction control
Release revised quality documents through review and record acknowledgment by person and document.
Choose one incoming or final inspection whose rejection creates a real follow-up discussion. Record its checks and their evidence, then have Quality Approver make the disposition decision. Quality Manager can assign a corrective action against the resulting nonconformance. Enter the root cause and action, then observe how the record moves through its approved, implementing and effectiveness review states. The parent issue closes only after its linked action condition is satisfied.
Include one controlled instruction used by the pilot team. Record title, version, attachment and effective date, then submit the revision for the release check. Ask an Inspector to acknowledge the approved record and verify that the acknowledgment points to the same document. This creates a concrete training handoff without relying on a freeform note. Use [document release](/qms-for-aerospace-and-defense/processes/document-release) and [nonconformance to correction](/qms-for-aerospace-and-defense/processes/nonconformance-to-correction) to rehearse those decisions.
