ReviewWhat you can do
Follow the inspection from assignment to review
A quality reviewer starts with a subject reference, inspection type, scheduled date and assigned person. The Inspector uses that single inspection as the parent for each required check. Incoming, in process, final and service work can follow the same record pattern while retaining their own subject references. The Business Overview page gives the team a current-state distribution and a queue of assigned work. The inspection record remains the place to inspect the actual observation and evidence.
The Inspector starts a planned inspection before entering results. Each check has a requirement, observation, result and attached evidence. A failed check stays visible with its original observation. When required check information is incomplete, the conduct-inspection flow rejects submission. This matters in a case where one check passes and another has an observation but no evidence: the review handoff waits for the missing item rather than treating the whole inspection as complete.
How the work is organized
- Assignment. Give each inspection a subject reference and an Inspector before work begins.
- Execution. Record a result and supporting observation on every linked check as the work happens.
- Review. Submit the inspected record after the check evidence is complete so the Quality Reviewer can examine it.
What to agree during setup
Agree what the subject reference identifies in your operation. For an incoming material inspection it may be the source batch identifier from a connected manufacturing or inventory system. For a final inspection it may be the finished batch. Keep the reference format stable enough that a reviewer can find the originating record. Decide which checks are expected for each inspection type and what attachment qualifies as evidence. Name the person who will review submitted work and how that person is selected from People.
Also settle how the team interprets pass, fail and not applicable. A not applicable check should carry an intelligible observation, so the reviewer can see why it was skipped. Set a routine for investigating a failed check through a linked Nonconformance; do not erase the failing result when follow-up work begins.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Take a planned incoming inspection with an assigned Inspector. Start it, enter observations for its linked checks and attach the available evidence. Leave one required observation blank and attempt submission; the Inspector should see that the incomplete check needs work. Complete it, submit the inspection and have a Quality Reviewer compare the checks with the subject reference. Open a failed check from the review queue and follow the linked issue to its owner. The original inspection number should remain the shared reference during the handoff.
