What you can do
Record what was examined
A textile or garment inspection decision needs requirement-level evidence. Each check names the requirement, records an observation and carries a result of Pending, Pass, Fail or not applicable. The inspector can attach evidence to the check. Every check points back to its inspection, so the reviewer can read the detailed record alongside the subject and inspection type.
The inspection workflow asks the inspector to save each linked check before submitting the inspection. Missing required checks are rejected. The reviewer then inspects the results before deciding which scope passes and which scope fails. A check marked Fail is a decision input, not a closed corrective action; rejected scope opens a linked nonconformance for containment and investigation.
How the work is organized
- Requirement. The inspector identifies the condition being examined and records the observed result.
- Evidence. An attachment can support a check when the observation needs a photograph or document.
- Review. The reviewer reads the complete set of linked checks before accepting or rejecting the inspection.
What to agree during setup
Quality Manager and Inspector should agree which requirements apply to Incoming, in process, Final and Service work. They should also define which checks are required for submission and how not applicable is used. Without a shared definition, one inspector might leave a requirement Pending while another marks it not applicable, making the review queue harder to decide consistently.
Agree how evidence is labeled and stored. The attachment on the check should support the written observation rather than replace it. Define the minimum observation needed for a Fail result so the reviewer can identify the failed scope and record a useful nonconformance description. Keep the same requirement language in the audit or controlled document where it governs the work.
Check the handoff on an actual case
For a garment Final inspection, the inspector records a check for a finishing requirement and writes the observation. A passing check is marked Pass; a failed measurement or visible issue is marked Fail with supporting evidence. The inspector also records the garment measurements linked to the same inspection where that detail is needed. Once all required checks are complete, the inspection moves to Review.
The Quality Reviewer opens the inspection and reads each check. Passing scope can be accepted. Failed scope is rejected, and the reviewer opens a linked nonconformance with severity; the follow-up action names its owner. The follow-up case points to the inspection, so a corrective action owner can return to the original check evidence during investigation.
