What you can do
Make each ingredient declaration inspectable
An ingredient line connects a selected material to the recipe version being prepared. Its quantity and unit describe the formulation amount, while the allergen declaration gives the reviewer the team’s statement about that material. Keep the declaration close to the ingredient identity so a changed material can be reviewed in the right context.
The formulation amount and the material actually consumed belong to different parts of the work. Production Operator records ingredient evidence against the recipe and posts physical consumption against eligible production work. Production Planner can follow the recipe’s linked work order when comparing the intended amounts with the material used.
How the work is organized
Production Operator enters ingredient evidence with the selected recipe and material. The submission route checks linked records and the acting person, reviews existing ingredient lines and sends attributable evidence to the responsible reviewer. Agree how staff handle a changed declaration before they begin entering operating data.
- Choose the exact version. Open the selected recipe and check its base yield before interpreting an ingredient amount.
- Identify the material. Follow the ingredient link to inspect the item code, unit and active setting beside the declaration.
- Record the statement. Enter the quantity, unit and allergen wording that the responsible source owner has supplied for that material.
What to agree during setup
Agree how the team writes allergen declarations and how missing information is investigated. Staff should know which source owner to contact when an ingredient’s statement is incomplete or changes. Supplier declarations and testing evidence can come from the team’s existing source systems through connections agreed during setup.
Decide who reviews changed declarations and how a correction reaches that person. Rehearse the evidence handoff using an ordinary operator account. The operator should be able to find the selected recipe and material without taking responsibility for the separate finished-batch approval. Keep product-label decisions with the customer’s designated labeling process and source owner.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Use a rehearsal formulation with an ingredient amount of 20 kg and an allergen declaration of milk. Open the recipe link and check its base-yield context. Confirm that the material reference points to the intended item, then ask Production Operator to submit the ingredient evidence. Quality Reviewer inspects the submitted statement and its production context.
Prepare a revised formulation using a different material. Check its declaration with the source owner before carrying forward the earlier wording. Record which version the new ingredient line belongs to and follow its linked production work. A material change can alter the review question even when the quantity stays the same.
Include a missing reference and an account whose staff identity cannot be resolved. Inspect the rejected request and correct the source problem before resubmitting. Rehearse a declaration correction with the responsible reviewer and retain the earlier submitted context. The team should be able to explain which statement was reviewed and which later record supplies the correction.
What your team sees
- Ingredient and Allergen Register — Review positive ingredient quantities with their recipe, material, unit and declaration.
- Recipe Version Register — Inspect the base-yield and production context behind the selected ingredient line.
Follow the work through
Rehearse recipe preparation, then compare declarations with material issue and stock. Agree external evidence ownership on the integrations page.
