What you can do

Keep the interval behind the output

A production log records the start and end of an operator’s completed interval with reported good and scrap quantities. Its work-order link identifies the intended product and production basis. Its operator link identifies the staff member whose evidence the team is reviewing. The recording action validates the completed interval and routes output to pending quality review.

Quality Reviewer can inspect the interval alongside the batch awaiting a decision. Keep reported output separate from the later accepted-output receipt when discussing progress. Production Planner helps resolve unexpected product or work-order context before the reviewer decides whether eligible output can be released.

How the work is organized

Production Operator captures the interval under the configured record-entry permissions. Production Planner inspects the linked work and can follow the recipe’s production context. Quality Reviewer reads the production evidence before making the batch decision. Business Overview brings production work and its supporting evidence under a shared filter scope.

  • Preserve the interval. Enter the actual start and end of the completed work period supplied to the recording action.
  • Attribute the work. Select the correct operator and check the staff account link used by the submission route.
  • Separate the outcome. Record the good and scrap quantities, then follow the batch disposition through the quality decision.

What to agree during setup

Agree how the team interprets output quantities for each finished product. Use the linked production work and its product unit when comparing reported amounts. Staff should be able to explain the quantity basis before combining results or discussing a difference from the planned amount.

Choose a timestamp convention for shifts and rehearse a completed interval with an ordinary operator account. Check how the action responds to an incomplete or invalid interval. Agree who investigates wrongly attributed work and how a correction reaches Quality Reviewer when production evidence has already been submitted.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Prepare eligible production work and submit a completed rehearsal interval with a good quantity of 240 and scrap quantity of 10. Inspect the saved work-order and operator links, then find the output batch routed to Pending quality review. Ask the operator to explain the reported quantity basis using the intended finished product.

Quality Reviewer opens the same production context and inspects the required batch evidence. A positive good quantity represents the operator’s report; the reviewer still decides eligible accepted output through the separate release action. Follow the successful receipt result before using the batch as received finished stock.

Repeat with an account whose staff identity cannot resolve and an interval that has not been completed. Inspect the returned validation outcome and correct the source problem before resubmitting. Rehearse a later correction with the responsible team member, preserving the earlier interval context so the reviewer can understand what changed.

What your team sees

  • Production Interval Register — Inspect completed-date intervals with their operator, production work and reported quantities.
  • My Production Logs — Review your recorded intervals and quantities for the work you performed.
  • Batches Awaiting Quality Review — Open output still waiting for the authorized quality decision.

Follow the work through

Use production to quality release to inspect the full handoff. Review production release when an interval points to unexpected work, and prepare analytical questions on the reports page.
