What you can do
Give the supervisor a specific service plan to review
The stylist appointment records the named stylist, service, planned start and service minutes alongside its parent booking. Booking Coordinator or Stylist prepares the details, then submits the current revision for Booking Supervisor review. The supervisor decides against that submitted scope and its supporting evidence.
A customer may change from a short cut to a longer color service after the booking request is entered. The team needs to review the changed service and duration rather than assuming that an earlier stylist arrangement still applies. Keeping the stylist arrangement linked to the booking makes that review understandable in the context of the customer’s visit.
How the work is organized
- Service details. Record the stylist name, service and duration used for the review. Confirm that the planned start and salon organization agree with the parent booking.
- Submitted revision. Move the prepared appointment from Draft to Submitted. Booking Supervisor examines the frozen submitted revision and records the independent approval or rejection decision.
- Confirmation result. Booking Coordinator confirms the approved arrangement within their assigned authority. Mark the stylist appointment Completed only after the confirmation succeeds and its receipt records the result.
What to agree during setup
Agree how staff write stylist names and service descriptions so the supervisor can identify the intended work. The booking’s assigned owner identifies the person responsible for operating the record. Keep that responsibility clear when the named stylist and the person coordinating the visit differ.
Define the evidence needed for the supervisor’s decision and who may submit or execute the appointment action. Independent review requires a different person to make the decision. Agree how staff handle a service change after submission, including the need to review the current revision rather than applying an earlier approval to changed work.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Prepare a stylist appointment for a booked color service and record its service minutes. Submit it with the supporting material. Booking Supervisor confirms the parent booking and salon context, examines the submitted revision and records a reasoned approval or rejection.
Rehearse a service change after the supervisor has opened the original submission. The old request must not silently authorize the revised appointment. Also try a submission linked to a booking from a different organization and resolve the scope mismatch before proceeding.
After approval, confirm the agreed stylist arrangement and inspect its receipt. Mark it Completed only when the required confirmation work has succeeded and its outcome is recorded. Then inspect the linked booking: completing this confirmation operation does not mean the customer has arrived or that the salon service has finished. Staff should still follow the booking’s arrival and service lifecycle at the appropriate time.
