What you can do

Keep chemical evidence attached to the request

A compatibility submission gives the Chemical Safety Reviewer the recorded chemical class, concentration, review time and SDS revision for the intended stock request. The Inventory Coordinator prepares that evidence against the parent request and operating organization. The reviewer can then assess a specific submission with its supporting documents and location context.

SDS sheets, certificates of analysis and inspection files remain attached to the request. Their titles, evidence types and upload information help the reviewer find the material behind the decision. The review should identify the actual revision considered so a later change to the chemical evidence or stock scope is visible to the people responsible for authorization.

How the work is organized

  • Prepared assessment. Record the chemical class, concentration, review time and SDS revision before submitting the compatibility review. Use the source documents relevant to the intended item and request so the reviewer can interpret the fields in context.
  • Revision-specific evidence. The submission action checks the chemical evidence against the current parent request and assessment revision. The Chemical Safety Reviewer examines the source documents and raises concerns for the Inventory Reviewer to resolve during stock authorization.
  • Accessible evidence. Attach the SDS and inspection material to the request with a useful title and evidence type. Choose Internal or Shared visibility according to the access policy agreed during setup, then test it with the intended readers.

What to agree during setup

Name the person who assesses technical suitability under your site’s procedure and agree the evidence the stock reviewer needs. Establish how the Inventory Coordinator obtains the current SDS revision and identifies the relevant chemical class and concentration from the authoritative material. Keep the technical assessment and site storage procedure with the responsible reviewer.

Decide what requires resubmission, including a changed SDS revision, concentration or request scope. Rehearse how the parent request revision and compatibility revision stay connected during review. If a laboratory or document system supplies the evidence, agree that connection’s source ownership and document identity before relying on an imported assessment.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Prepare a compatibility review for the CH-204 stock request at CR-02. The Inventory Coordinator records the chemical class and concentration from the source evidence, identifies the SDS revision and attaches the supporting file to the request. The Chemical Safety Reviewer checks the submitted revision and location context, then identifies any concern the Inventory Reviewer needs to resolve before authorizing stock work.

Repeat the case with the SDS revision omitted and confirm that the submission cannot pass the required validation. Then change the parent request while its compatibility review is being assessed. Check the assessment against the changed scope before carrying its evidence into stock authorization. Have the Chemical Safety Reviewer explain what the source documents establish for this request under the site’s assessment procedure.
