What you can do
Give the reviewer a definite stock decision
The Inventory Coordinator prepares the request that explains the intended chemical stock operation. It identifies the item, requested quantity, base unit and location, together with the responsible person and required date. Draft and Review distinguish preparation from the point where an independent Inventory Reviewer assesses the submitted scope.
Approval belongs to a specific revision. The Inventory Reviewer checks the item and location context with the supporting evidence before authorizing the applicable stock action. Approved, Executed, Rejected and Cancelled retain the subsequent request state, allowing the team to follow what happened without treating a change of label as a substitute for the underlying stock effect.
How the work is organized
- Prepared scope. Use a subject and record number that make the operation recognizable. Confirm the requested units against the item base unit and select the intended location references before submitting the request for review.
- Independent authorization. The Inventory Reviewer assesses the frozen revision and its evidence. Keep the preparer and reviewer responsibilities separate so the person making the decision can explain what was authorized and why.
- Execution follow-up. After approval, inspect the applicable posted movement or reservation and its receipt. The Inventory Coordinator should be able to trace the executed scope to the same request that the reviewer assessed.
What to agree during setup
Agree which operating actions the team will pilot and how the page selects the intended receive, move, reserve or issue path. Set the meaning of the required date so it is useful for prioritizing the queue. Decide how request subjects distinguish otherwise similar operations for the same item and location.
Establish the review evidence required before the Inventory Reviewer approves. Compatibility assessment has its own Chemical Safety Reviewer responsibility, while the stock decision also needs the correct quantity, unit and location context. Rehearse how a changed request returns to the current review path instead of relying on an earlier decision.
Check the handoff on an actual case
The Inventory Coordinator prepares a request for chemical SKU CH-204 at location CR-02. They confirm the quantity in the item’s base unit and attach the inspection evidence. The Chemical Safety Reviewer assesses the relevant compatibility submission, then the Inventory Reviewer examines the frozen stock-request revision.
Approve the eligible case and inspect the resulting operation. Repeat the rehearsal after changing the requested quantity while review is in progress. The old revision must not authorize the changed scope. Also try the action from a different coordinator’s account and check that assigned ownership and organization access are enforced. Confirm the persisted result before treating the request as executed in the operating review.
What your team sees
- Stock Request Board — Draft, Review and Approved requests grouped by their current state, with item, quantity and owner visible.
- Request Review Queue — Requests in Review with the revision and scope the Inventory Reviewer needs to assess.
- Due Stock Requests — Open requests whose required date has arrived and needs operating attention.
Follow the work through
Use inspected stock operations for receipt and movement work, or reservation and consumption for an approved allocation.
