Systems to connect
- Sales channels. Map each channel’s external order ID to the customer order and agree how repeated messages are handled.
- Supplier systems. Carry the supplier reference and acknowledgement ID on the reviewed route.
- Payment provider. Preserve provider event IDs, references, event type, amount and verification state.
- Fulfillment source. Map external event IDs and products to dated allocation, shipment, delivery and return events.
How connections are governed
Choose an owner for each external identifier and define the retry procedure. An operation receipt keeps its operation key, expected revision and result state so the team can investigate failed or repeated actions. Test a duplicate provider event, a stale order revision and a supplier acknowledgement without shipment evidence. Only mark an order shipped from the relevant fulfillment evidence.
