What you can do
Inspect the actual storage scope
A hazard check belongs to a stock request and organization. The Inventory Coordinator records the hazard class, inspection date, SDS revision and maximum storage units. The Inventory Reviewer uses that information to decide the selected storage scope. The decision is associated with the request revision, so a later change to quantity or location needs a fresh look.
A check can be Draft, Submitted, Approved, Rejected or Completed. Submission makes the check visible for decision. The reviewer records Approve, Reject or Return with a reason and decision time. A decision is a human action; an open check or a document attachment should not be read as an approval.
How the work is organized
- Capture inspection. Record the class and inspected date against the request being considered.
- Read the SDS revision. Keep the revision identifier alongside the check and any attached supporting file.
- Decide independently. The reviewer records the decision and reason against the exact request revision.
What to agree during setup
Agree how coordinators identify the correct SDS revision and where the authoritative document comes from. Decide who checks compatibility between a material class and the proposed location. The location has an eligibility note, while the check has a storage limit; both need an operating rule that the reviewer can apply consistently. Agree when a returned check can be edited and who resubmits it.
Set the separation between the person who prepares a check and the person who decides it. Make the review queue part of the daily operating rhythm, especially when a required date is near. Decide how rejected work is explained to the requester and how a corrected request receives a new review. Attached evidence should stay with the parent request rather than in an unrelated folder.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Use a request for an item whose hazard class needs scrutiny at the selected location. The coordinator enters the class, SDS revision and maximum storage units, then submits the check. The reviewer reads the location eligibility note, lot release state and supporting attachment. If the scope is compatible, the reviewer records Approve and a reason. If the destination is incompatible, record Reject instead and confirm the request cannot proceed under that decision. Change the requested units after approval and verify the earlier decision is still traceable to its original revision.
