Stock requests
A request gives the Inventory Coordinator one record for the item, requested quantity, source and counterparty locations, and required date. The Inventory Reviewer can check the same revision and supporting attachment before deciding whether that work proceeds.

What you can do
Follow the operating record
A stock request starts with a subject, an item, the organization, a source location, a counterparty location, requested units and a required date. The Inventory Coordinator owns the record. The owner and revision make it possible to see whose work is being reviewed and which version the decision concerns.
An Inventory Reviewer records an independent decision with a source revision, reason and decision date. An approved request can proceed to a reservation, movement or network transfer. A rejected request remains visible in the history; a returned request needs correction and a fresh review of its revision.
A request is the parent of its decision and any later reservation, transfer, movement or receipt. Follow those links when the requested quantity changes, because a decision about an earlier revision does not cover a revised request.
How the work is organized
- Prepare. Inventory Coordinator selects the organization, item, locations and owner, then attaches the evidence needed for review.
- Decide. Inventory Reviewer compares the current revision with the decision source revision and records the reason.
- Follow. Auditor traces the decision and any resulting stock effect from the parent request.
What to agree during setup
Agree who can prepare requests, when evidence must be attached, and how the team handles a changed quantity after review. Identify the reviewer for each organization and the owner responsible for correcting a returned request.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Consider an item needed at another warehouse by Friday. The coordinator checks the item and both locations, enters the required units and attaches the supporting request. The reviewer checks the revised quantity and location before approving. The team can then follow the same parent request through the transfer and its receipts rather than starting an unrelated operational record.
If the requested quantity changes after the decision, compare the new revision with the recorded source revision. Keep the old decision in history and ask the reviewer to decide the changed request. Then inspect the transfer, receipt and posted movement against the approved version.
