Distributed operating teams
Departments with several sites need a clear owner for each request and a known destination for goods or services. A requester records the need; the requisition carries the department and cost center, and buyers order to the selected location. Receiving evidence stays tied to the order even if the delivery is split across dates.
How SCM with Supplier Portal is set up for you
Local demand
Keep the required date on the purchase request and department and cost center on the requisition.
Approval authority
Route buying decisions by amount and scope, with a separate approver.
Site receipt
Record the receiving location and actual accepted quantity for each delivery.

Pilot one department and one site. Submit a request for an operational service, review it independently and prepare the resulting order. Record a desk receipt or dock arrival as appropriate to the item. Compare the request amount, order revision and receipt evidence before extending the process to other sites.
Keep the requisition department and cost center with the approved buying scope when Buyer orders for a different site. Receiving Clerk records the actual delivery location and accepted quantity, so Controller can compare the posted result with the commitment. If an invoice names another site or quantity, Buyer follows the match exception against the order and receipt instead of changing the original request.
Repeat the access rehearsal with a requester from another department to confirm that location and approval scope remain clear.
Plan the first operating cycle in [implementation](/scm-with-supplier-portal/implementation) and inspect the connected records in [the data model](/scm-with-supplier-portal/data-model).
