Lot-controlled production teams
Teams that organize daily production around lots need the floor and quality reviewer to use the same identifiers. Shop Floor Control records lot references on material issues, inventory balances and produced batches. Production Planner can discuss the material used for a work order while Quality Reviewer decides what happens to its output.
How Shop Floor Control is set up for you
Lot selection
Keep the material item and lot clear at issue time. Review the storage location and reservations when the same lot appears in several balances, then confirm the posting changes the intended stock.
Output disposition
Carry produced lots into Pending review and use the agreed procedure for Released, Held or Rejected output. Production dates and applicable expiry dates give the reviewer context for the decision.
Station context
Read relevant Andon events alongside the production interval when an interruption affects the review. The resolution explains what happened at the resource without replacing the inspection evidence.

Pilot a product whose material lot and output lot are familiar to the team. Agree their naming conventions and record the opening stock with reservations before starting the run. Release the work, issue the identified material and record the operator's good and scrap quantities. Ask the reviewer to hold one rehearsal batch while a question remains unresolved, then release a separate eligible batch.
Inspect the finished-stock receipt and repeat the accepted release to confirm it cannot add the output again. Review the work order's remaining scope before considering it complete. If inspection measurements come from a laboratory or quality system, establish how that evidence reaches the reviewer and who owns corrections there. Keep that handoff specific to the pilot product before expanding the operating scope.
