What you can do
Investigate the result before changing it
A case or interval can need correction after an action has been requested or accepted. Utility Coordinator identifies the current case revision and the related source evidence, decisions and receipts before requesting a correction. The action distinguishes unexecuted draft scope from work that has already been accepted or executed. That distinction determines how the team can proceed while preserving the original records.
Unexecuted scope can be canceled through the authorized action. Executed scope requires a compensating action approved by Authorized Utility Supervisor. Reconciliation reads unresolved receipts against their linked local effects and never re-executes an external action. The reviewer can therefore investigate what the retained records show without treating a repeated execution as a way to discover the earlier outcome.
How the work is organized
- Current scope. Identify the case revision and the exact reading or operational work requiring correction. Review the related evidence before deciding whether the scope has executed. An accepted estimate later superseded by measured evidence needs the accepted-history path, with the earlier quality and decision retained.
- Independent compensation. Authorized Utility Supervisor reviews the proposed compensating action for accepted or executed scope. Keep the reason and original effect identifiable. The corrected result must be explainable alongside the earlier decision rather than replacing that history with an unexplained edit.
- Read-first reconciliation. Inspect the operation key, expected revision and effect references on an outstanding receipt. Compare them with the linked local records and retain any discrepancy explanation. A successful result for another action on the same case does not establish completion of the receipt being investigated.
What to agree during setup
Agree how the team identifies the executed effect and the proposed correction. Keep the case, interval and decision references precise, especially when a case has several readings. Define who may request a correction and which independent supervisor can approve compensation. Preserve the source revision and reason needed for a later audit discussion.
Choose the follow-up routine for Pending, Failed and review-needed results. The reviewer should be able to explain the intended effect, the evidence currently available and the unresolved question. Confirm the external system responsible for any outside effect and obtain its evidence through the authorized connection. Reconciliation of local records is separate from re-executing that external operation.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Use an illustrative estimated interval that has already been accepted. A later source observation supplies a measured result. Utility Coordinator requests correction against the current case and evidence, and Authorized Utility Supervisor reviews the compensating action. Preserve the original estimate, its quality designation and its decision so the replacement can be understood in context. In the energy review, select the effective corrected result and retain the earlier estimate as history. Check that the total includes the effective value once.
Rehearse a separate unexecuted draft request and cancel its scope with a retained explanation. Then inspect an unresolved receipt whose effect references identify a different reading under the same case. The mismatch should remain visible for reviewer attention. Finally, run the read-first reconciliation check and verify that it compares evidence without repeating an external action or deleting the original records.
What your team sees
- Outstanding Operations — Pending, Failed and review-needed results with their action and source context.
- Completed Operations — Completed receipts with effect references available for comparison.
- Returned Decisions — Reviewer questions that explain what the preparer must resolve.

- Operational service cases with lifecycle, affected scope and restoration.
- Service evidence
- Source-identified evidence lines supporting a service case.
- Review decisions
- Independent reviewer decisions on a source revision.
- Interval readings
- Verified meter interval readings submitted for acceptance.
- Record attachments
- Uploaded evidence files linked to a service case.
Who uses it
Permissions- Utility Coordinator
- Requests corrections within assigned scope.
- Authorized Utility Supervisor
- Approves compensation and reconciles evidence.
