What you can do
Know which interval the decision accepts
A meter interval record identifies the meter, interval end and energy value alongside its quality flag. It belongs to a service case and organization, so the reviewer can inspect the operational context behind the reading. Utility Coordinator prepares the record and presents the current revision for independent assessment before the eligible acceptance action proceeds.
The Interval Readings workspace brings submitted revisions, parent context and the current review decision together. Use it to confirm the actual interval being accepted, then inspect the resulting operation receipt. Draft, Submitted, Approved, Rejected and Completed describe different points in that work. An accepted result should retain its quality designation and the evidence explaining the decision.
How the work is organized
- Reading identity. Confirm the meter description, interval end and organization against the source. Use the same identity convention when checking for duplicates. A similar meter label or a differently interpreted end time must not make the reviewer accept the wrong reading.
- Independent decision. Authorized Utility Supervisor assesses the relevant source revision separately from the preparer. The decision should explain approval, rejection or a return for clarification. Keep the source evidence available so a later reader can understand what was reviewed.
- Guarded acceptance. Execute the eligible acceptance action for the identified reading and retain its operation result. Duplicate intervals are rejected. Inspect the receipt when an outcome is uncertain before making another request, keeping the original quality flag visible throughout the process.
What to agree during setup
Agree how the source identifies a meter and what the interval end means in the organization’s time zone. Confirm the precision of the stored time and the identity used for duplicate detection. The team should be able to explain why apparently similar submissions represent either the same interval or different work.
Define the meaning of quality flags and the evidence needed to review a reading. Estimated readings must remain visibly distinct from other source qualities. Decide how the reviewer identifies the exact interval when several readings share a service case. Keep the review decision and action references precise enough to distinguish those readings and their revisions.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Use an illustrative meter reading received with source evidence under a service case. Utility Coordinator checks the meter identity, end time and energy value, retains the quality flag and submits the current revision. Authorized Utility Supervisor inspects the source and independently approves the intended reading. The coordinator then executes the eligible action and checks the persisted result.
Rehearse a duplicate submission for the same source interval. It must not create another accepted interval. Next, use an estimated reading and verify that its designation remains visible after review and acceptance. Finally, present another reading under the same service case and check that the earlier decision does not appear to approve it merely because both records share a parent. Keep uncertainty in the action result visible for follow-up.
What your team sees
- Interval Readings — Submitted meter revisions with quality, parent context and the acceptance decision in reach.
- Draft Meter Intervals — Readings the coordinator is preparing for review.
- Interval Acceptance History — Review and completion outcomes with the original quality designation retained.
Follow the work through
Use interval review and acceptance, then correction and reconciliation when an accepted result needs investigation.
