What you can do

Give the initiative a defined scope

Marketing Manager prepares a campaign with a recognizable code, name and theme. The start and end dates establish the operating window, while the owner stays responsible for the handoff across content preparation, review and performance discussion. The stated goal identifies what the team intends to examine afterwards.

Campaign links connect the initiative to its posts, retaining their intended order and any relevant notes. A post can participate in more than one campaign. The team can inspect that relationship without copying the post itself and losing track of its current approval or destination outcome.

How the work is organized

  • State the campaign intent. Marketing Manager selects a goal such as Reach, Impressions, Engagements, Clicks or Conversions and records the target value. Keep the campaign theme and budget reference understandable to the people preparing the content.
  • Link the content. Add the intended post to the campaign and set its order where that helps the plan. Use the link’s notes to explain its place in the initiative. Content Creator continues working on the same post record that Approver will examine.
  • Review the operating window. Planned, Active and Paused distinguish the current campaign position. Marketing Manager checks the date window alongside the linked content and recorded engagement totals. The campaign label should help the team coordinate its work without hiding the state of an individual post.

What to agree during setup

Agree the campaign code convention and name the owner before content work begins. Decide what the selected goal means for the first reporting discussion and which account-level measurements will support it. Set the tracking-label convention for source, medium and campaign so links can be interpreted consistently.

Discuss how shared posts are counted when they participate in several campaigns. A campaign’s own view of its linked content can be useful without treating every campaign total as an independent company-wide result. Decide who maintains the date window when the initiative is paused or extended.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Create a rehearsal launch campaign with a start and end date, an engagement goal and a Marketing Manager owner. Link the main announcement and a later follow-up post with an order that reflects the intended plan. Ask Content Creator to open the same post from the campaign and from the editorial queue.

Now associate the announcement with another initiative. During the reporting rehearsal, Marketing Manager identifies that shared post before combining totals. The team should be able to explain the campaign’s content membership and avoid counting the same post twice in a broader comparison.

Finally, pause the campaign while one linked post still has a failed destination. Review both records of the case. Pausing the initiative provides planning context; the individual post’s target outcomes still need their own explanation and next action.

What your team sees

  • Campaign Calendar — Campaign windows, owners and stated goals for planning discussion.
  • Editorial Board — The current state of the content being coordinated.
  • Post Performance Rollups — Recorded account-level results used during campaign review.

Follow the work through

Use Campaign performance review and Content preparation and approval for the connected editorial work.
