What you can do
Make the decision against the submitted observation
Maintenance Reviewer checks a submitted tire inspection before authorizing rotation or replacement. The decision needs the tire identity, observed condition, proposed work and the relevant operating context. The inspector supplies the evidence; a different person decides. Agreement in a conversation should be followed by the recorded decision so the workshop can identify what was authorized.
The review stays tied to the submitted revision and the matching parent load revision. If the tire identity or reviewed scope changes, bring the change back to Maintenance Reviewer. An earlier approval should not be treated as permission for different work simply because it shares the same load.
How the work is organized
- Review the submitted scope. Open the inspection awaiting approval and compare the reading, position and attachment with the intended action. Record a reason that distinguishes the rotation or replacement under consideration.
- Record the decision. Maintenance Reviewer chooses Approve, Reject or Return. Approval authorizes the reviewed work. Return asks for a correction or clarification and leaves completion unresolved until that request has been addressed.
- Verify the outcome. Tire Inspector supplies evidence of the actual work. Complete the inspection only after the matching operation receipt has been persisted and its result supports completion.
What to agree during setup
Name the independent reviewer and a substitute who can act when that person is unavailable. Agree the evidence needed for rotation and replacement, including how the team records the tire serial before and after the work. A replacement introduces a different physical tire; retaining the removed tire’s history helps staff understand why the change happened.
Use a consistent decision reason that identifies the inspected tire and intended action. Agree how the workshop hands back evidence when the work happens outside the dispatch team. Review the meaning of Approved and Completed with both groups. Authorization and a confirmed outcome answer different questions during a shift handoff.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Tire Inspector submits an observation for tire TM-214. Maintenance Reviewer approves a rotation with a clear reason and the reviewed revision. Before work begins, the inspector finds that the serial was copied incorrectly. The team should resolve that discrepancy and obtain a decision for the corrected scope before continuing. The original decision remains available to explain the sequence.
Then rehearse a completed physical rotation whose operation receipt failed to persist. The inspector provides the work evidence and Operations Analyst investigates the unresolved result. The team must establish the actual outcome before retrying anything that could repeat work. When the result is confirmed, retain the original evidence and the resolved receipt together.
