Prepare the next review with Proto

Prepare trade compliance records and review queues with Proto.

It can

  • Control Owner: List assessments in testing with failed test results and their linked controls.
  • Independent Assurance Reviewer: Summarize submitted export reviews by destination and parent assessment.
  • Auditor: Trace a reviewed assessment to its decisions, attachments and operation receipts.

Stays with a person

  • The Independent Assurance Reviewer owns the decision on a submitted revision.
  • Proto can collect the linked records and point out exceptions; it cannot stand in for a sanctions screening result, license determination or authorized human approval.
  • Check the source and revision before accepting a recommendation.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Agree the boundary

Name the organization, business unit, counterparty and official screening and license sources for the pilot.

  2. Map the records

Import people, risks and controls before assessments, tests and export reviews. Preserve source identifiers and revisions.

  3. Configure a bounded pilot

Use one assessment period, a representative control test and an export review with its destination and license reference.

  4. Rehearse exceptions

Record a failed test, action, independent retest, returned review and receipt needing review.

  5. Reconcile and release

Compare the linked records and source evidence with the team’s original case, then obtain the authorized review decision.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Trade Compliance for your business. Start with one organization, assessment period, control test and export review whose evidence the reviewer can reconcile.

What does an assessment cover?

It records a subject, organization, counterparty, period, scope, owner and planned tests. Tests, findings and evidence attach to that assessment.

How are failed tests handled?

A failed result stays linked to its control and assessment. The team can record a finding, corrective action and independent retest to explain the outcome.

Who decides an export review?

The Independent Assurance Reviewer examines the submitted revision and supporting evidence, then records the authorized outcome.

Does the app perform sanctions screening?

Use your designated screening source for official results. Keep its evidence and references with the case the reviewer examines.

Where does license information go?

The export review holds a license reference. Agree the authoritative source and how reviewers reconcile that reference during setup.

Can reviewers see earlier decisions?

Review decisions carry the source revision, reviewer, date and reason, so the team can inspect which assessment version was considered.

What happens to a failed operation?

Operation receipts retain a result state and failure reason. The team can reconcile items needing review against the intended assessment revision.

Can we migrate from spreadsheets?

Start with stable organization, person, risk and control identifiers. Import a bounded assessment period and reconcile the linked evidence before expanding.

Set up Trade Compliance your way.
