What you can do
Make the work order the starting point
Waste work needs a clear site and responsible person before material moves. Operations Manager prepares the requested work order with a subject, request date and due date. The assigned person gives the team someone to contact when the collection changes or the supporting evidence needs attention.
The site record identifies the facility and its location. Its active state matters when the authorized work action runs. A work order referring to a closed site needs to be resolved before the team treats it as executable work. Keep site maintenance with Operations Manager so field staff can use the agreed operating context.
Business Overview helps the team inspect scoped work orders by site, assignee and stored state. Its intake filters and recent record queue provide a practical place to find a request. The work order remains the common reference for the field log, captured waste stream and later financial charge.
How the work is organized
- Requested work. Operations Manager identifies the site and assigns the responsible person. The subject explains the collection or processing task, while the due date makes follow-up visible.
- Authorization. Operations Manager approves eligible work. The execution action checks the site and linked source before resolving the acting user’s identity through the people record.
- Assigned follow-up. Operations Officer follows the assigned order into field activity. Operations Reviewer inspects submitted work and evidence through the controlled review actions.
What to agree during setup
Agree how site names distinguish facilities and collection areas. Use the location to make the intended operating site clear, then decide who closes a site when it is no longer available for new work. An old site name should not remain usable merely because it appears on a familiar order.
Admin links people to their real platform accounts. Agree which person represents each operator and how active membership is maintained. A role title explains the person’s job, while account permissions govern what they can actually do. Set expectations for request and due dates so the team knows which queue to inspect at the start of a shift.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Rehearse a request to collect metal offcuts from an active fabrication site. Operations Manager records the subject and due date, assigns Operations Officer and approves the order. The operator should be able to identify the site and selected order before recording the quantity collected.
Try the same execution path with a closed site and with an acting account that has no valid person link. Those cases must stop before work is attributed to the wrong person or place. Then inspect the legitimate order from Business Overview and My Work Orders. The field team and reviewer should reach the same parent record without relying on a separate message to identify it.
