Prepare the spray window with Proto

Prepare and review field operations, weather advisories and receipts with Proto.

It can

  • Operations Planner: List planned sprays for the next three days on farms where the latest approved rainfall is above the alert threshold.
  • Domain Reviewer: Show operations waiting in Review with their evidence lines and flag any suspect readings.
  • Farm Coordinator: List my authorized operations for today that still have no evidence lines.
  • Operations Manager: Group failed and needs review receipts by action and failure reason.

Stays with a person

  • Authorizations, advisory approvals and compensating actions belong to the Domain Reviewer.
  • Proto works with the signed-in person's permissions and organization.
  • It can gather evidence, find conflicts and prepare drafts for review; it does not approve a plan, publish an advisory or complete work on anyone's behalf.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Agree the operating boundary

The app runs client farms, field operations, weather observations, professional review, agronomy evidence and operation receipts. Station feeds, pest models, product label databases, sprayer telemetry and invoicing remain connected systems. Your advisers decide authorizations and advisories; Proto prepares information and configuration for review.

  2. Map the source data

Gather organizations with time zones, farm codes and eligibility notes, team members and their roles, the station list and open spray plans. Agree evidence types, units and quality flags.

  3. Configure a bounded pilot

Pilot one organization and a few client farms for one spray window. Run every plan, observation, review and completion through the app.

  4. Rehearse the exceptions

A planner must not approve their own plan. A changed plan must need a new decision. Completion against an out-of-date revision must be refused. A completed operation must be corrected with a reviewer-approved compensating action, never by editing it.

  5. Reconcile and release

Compare open operations, decisions and completed work with your spray records and reconcile the receipts. Obtain sign-off from the lead adviser and the Operations Manager, keep an export of the source and agree the rollback window before cutover.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Weather Station / Advisory.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Weather Station / Advisory for your business. Pilot one organization and a few client farms for one spray window. Run every plan, observation, review and completion through the app and reconcile with your spray records before adding more farms.

Does it collect readings from our weather stations?

Readings come from your station network or weather service through an agreed connection, or are entered by the farm coordinator. Each reading is recorded with its station, date, rainfall and alert threshold.

Who approves a spray plan?

A Domain Reviewer in the same organization who did not prepare the plan. The decision is Approve, Reject or Return, with a reason, against the exact revision.

What happens if a plan changes after approval?

The change raises the revision number and the plan needs a new decision before the work goes ahead.

Can growers see the evidence?

Files marked Shared are for the grower; files marked Internal stay with your team. Agree which documents are shared during setup.

Does it model pest risk?

Pest pressure is recorded as evidence, such as trap counts with their source and quality flag. Pest and disease models run in your own tools and can feed evidence lines through a connection.

Can we cancel work that is already done?

Work not yet carried out is cancelled. Work already done is corrected through a compensating action that a reviewer approves. Records are never deleted.

Can we run several regions?

Yes. Each region can be its own organization with its own time zone, farms and team members, and reviewers decide only within their organization.

Can we migrate from spreadsheets?

Prepare farm codes, team members, stations and open plans. Rehearse an import for one spray window and reconcile it before extending the migration.

What drives the cost?

Ordinary manual use has no per-user charge under the platform policy. Imports, integrations, agent execution and other machine work consume prepaid credits; implementation is scoped separately. The pricing page lists the current rates.
