Prepare and inspect work with your assistant

Prepare stock work and inspect its evidence while people retain operational decision authority.

It can

  • Inventory Clerk: Show my stock requests by required date, compare the proposed quantity with eligible free stock and help prepare the task for review.
  • Inventory Supervisor: Explain the current request revision, summarize returned decisions and show the movement evidence behind a failed verification.
  • Auditor: Trace a lot balance change through the original movement, its compensation and the related receipt without editing them.
  • App Administrator: Help inspect active membership and rehearse the organization boundary for the operating team.

Stays with a person

  • The assistant cannot supply an independent human decision on a robot task or reuse authority from an older revision.
  • It must act within the current user's authorized scope.
  • Completion needs the agreed evidence; a controller reference alone does not establish a verified stock effect.
  • Keep equipment control and safety decisions with the responsible controller environment.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Agree the first operating scope

Select the organization, induction area and storage locations for the pilot. Identify the item and base unit, the people preparing work and the supervisor responsible for decisions.

  2. Establish reference records

Configure membership, items and locations before importing lots, loads and handling units. Explain location eligibility and confirm the meaning of the request’s counterparty location.

  3. Prepare request review

Rehearse Draft preparation and Review, including an approved request and a returned decision. Verify current-revision checks and decide how corrected work is resubmitted.

  4. Test stock holds

Use a lot with existing active reservations. Accept a hold within free quantity, reject a shortfall and release held stock when authorized scope changes.

  5. Test robot and movement work

Have someone other than the creator decide the robot task. Execute the approved stock request, inspect its signed effect and repeat the action without duplicating the posting.

FAQ

Scope, rollout and pricing for Automated Storage (AS/RS).

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Automated Storage (AS/RS) for your business. Begin with an organization, an induction location and a storage area. Rehearse a stock request, an independently reviewed robot task and a verified quantity effect before expanding.

How does the app connect to a robot controller?

Configure the customer's controller connection separately. Agree how device references and controller event references map to the equipment and what evidence establishes the result. The controller environment remains responsible for equipment safety and interlocks.

What does the stock request authorize?

It identifies the item, location context, requested units and required date under an owner and organization. Inventory Supervisor reviews the current revision before approved work proceeds through its eligible stock actions.

Who may approve a robot task?

An eligible Inventory Supervisor decides the Submitted task using its current revision. The deciding person must be different from the task's creator. Only Approved work can move to Completed through the guarded task action.

Why can a reservation fail when stock is on hand?

Existing active Held reservations reduce free eligible inventory. If the new quantity exceeds what remains free, the action records a failed receipt with the shortfall instead of creating the oversized hold.

What happens when the request changes?

Use the authorized correction or cancellation action. Its held reservations are released so the quantity becomes free again. Review the changed scope and current revision before continuing the operating process.

How is a posted movement reversed?

Inventory Supervisor posts a compensating movement linked to the original and corrects the lot balance. The original movement stays immutable, and a repeated reversal returns the existing compensation.

What does verification check?

Reconciliation compares the matching posted movements with the authorized request quantity. A mismatch produces a failed receipt and leaves the request unchanged. The supervisor investigates the difference before accepting completion.

Does a completed robot task prove the stock balance is correct?

Inspect the parent request's movement and verification evidence separately. Task completion records the task lifecycle; the stock comparison establishes whether the authorized quantity and recorded effect agree.

How should the team use induction times?

Use each slot's scheduled time, location and sequence to organize the load handoff. Read the recorded slot status to identify missed or completed work, and keep planned times distinct from arrival evidence.
