Ask Proto to trace the work

Ask Proto to help prepare and inspect pallet and stock work.

It can

  • Inventory Clerk: Find a pallet code, its location and linked open request before a handoff.
  • Inventory Supervisor: Summarize a request revision, its decisions and failed receipts for review.
  • Auditor: Trace a posted movement, reversal and verification receipt to the parent request.
  • App Administrator: Help prepare organizations and team members for the first shift.

Stays with a person

  • A person decides whether a request is approved and whether a physical custody handoff happened.
  • Proto can prepare the records and show the evidence, but the supervisor and clerk remain responsible for those decisions and observations.
  • It should not infer a lot balance from a pallet status or treat a failed receipt as success.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Map the operation

Name the organization, warehouse locations, pallet-code convention and staff who prepare or review requests.

  2. Prepare stock

Add items, tracking modes, lots and current on-hand quantities at their storage locations.

  3. Prepare work

Register handling units and loads, then link a real request to the item and location it affects.

  4. Rehearse decisions

Have Inventory Supervisor review a request and inspect its decision and operation receipt.

  5. Rehearse effects

Hold eligible lot quantity, execute approved work and compare the posted movement with the request.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Pallet Tracking System for your business. Begin with one organization, its locations, a small item and lot range, and a real pallet handoff to rehearse.

What identifies a pallet?

The handling-unit record uses a pallet code, with item, quantity, custody owner, location and status alongside it.

How does the lot balance change?

Executing an approved stock request posts a movement that changes the lot balance. Staff maintain pallet status from the observed physical event.

Who approves a stock request?

Inventory Supervisor reviews the current request revision and records a decision and reason.

How is free lot quantity checked?

The reservation action compares eligible on-hand quantity with active Held reservations before creating another hold.

What happens when a reservation fails?

A Failed operation receipt records the shortfall so the team can select another lot or correct the request.

Can a posted movement be corrected?

Inventory Supervisor can post a compensating movement that links to the original and corrects the lot balance.

What happens when posted totals differ?

Reconciliation writes a Failed receipt and leaves the request unchanged for investigation.

Where are load appointments kept?

Load stops keep sequence, appointment time, status and location beneath the related Load.

Where can auditors find evidence?

Review decisions, operation receipts, attachments and the movement ledger link back to stock requests.
