Prepare the next review with Proto

Prepare batch reviews and configuration changes while keeping the production and quality decisions with your team.

It can

  • Planner: List Draft work orders with their customer required dates, planned windows and assigned resources for the release discussion.
  • Operator: Find my production intervals for the selected work order and show the good and scrap units behind the yield calculation.
  • Quality Reviewer: Collect a Pending batch's input lots, output categories and linked production intervals before the acceptance decision.
  • Buyer: Compare ordered and received quantities on open supplier purchase lines and list the remaining amounts by item.

Stays with a person

  • Proto can help gather records and prepare configuration, but Quality Reviewer owns acceptance of inspected output.
  • Planner remains responsible for production release and its demand context.
  • A generated explanation of quantities must retain the actual unit and calculation basis.
  • Review an unclear batch or inventory discrepancy with the responsible person before taking another posting action.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Agree the operating cycle

Planner and Quality Reviewer choose a familiar product and batch process. Identify who prepares work, posts material and accepts output. Agree the resource, quantity units and inspection handoff for the pilot.

  2. Prepare the reference records

Admin maps users to people and checks item, party and resource identities. Reconcile opening inventory by location and lot. Buyer reviews supplier purchase lines and their outstanding quantities.

  3. Configure the working views

Use Proto to set up the team’s access and working queues. Review Production Schedule with Planner, My Production Logs with Operator and Batch Release Inbox with Quality Reviewer. Each person should recognize the records used in their daily work.

  4. Rehearse production

Release an eligible Draft work order, post a material issue and have Quality Reviewer create the Pending batch against that work order before Operator captures its inputs. Record a valid production interval and separate good, rework and scrap output quantities. Quality Reviewer inspects the case before accepted release.

  5. Test the difficult cases

Repeat the issue and release requests to check that inventory changes once. Try an invalid batch reference, an end before a start and an Operator attempting quality release. Resolve the observed results with the responsible people.

Scope, rollout and pricing for Batch Manufacturing.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Batch Manufacturing for your business. Start with a familiar product, an identified production resource and material lots the team can reconcile. Rehearse a work order through material issue, production recording and accepted-output release before expanding.

What does a work order release do?

Planner releases eligible Draft work after the order lifecycle check. The work order becomes Released, and its product, planned quantity and material requirements are frozen. Review that basis before preparing material issues or recording production.

How are material lots connected to a batch?

A material issue records the item, lot and quantity withdrawn for the work order. Batch inputs then record the material, source lot, issued quantity and unit against the selected batch. Quality Reviewer can compare the batch evidence with its work order's posted issues.

What happens if a material posting is retried?

The posting action validates the Draft issue, reduces the exact item and lot balance once and marks the issue Posted. A repeated request must not withdraw that material again. Include an interrupted response and retry in the operating rehearsal.

How is production yield calculated?

Production yield is good units divided by good plus scrap units from the production logs. A run with 96 good and 4 scrap units shows 96 out of 100, or 96 percent. A zero denominator has no percentage. Keep batch output totals separate when comparing results.

How do we record rework?

Batch output keeps rework quantity alongside good and scrap quantities for the selected batch and output item. Review the separated amounts with Quality Reviewer before planning the next action. Accepted inventory release uses eligible good terminal output.

Who decides whether output can be released?

Quality Reviewer inspects the batch evidence and approves eligible accepted output. The action checks that the good terminal output has not already been received, receipts finished inventory once, marks the batch Released and completes the work order.

What does Production Logs and Details show?

The page filters production logs by work order and operator. It shows a daily Recorded entries trend by creation date and production yield with its numerator and denominator. Selecting a log reveals related material issues and inventory balances for investigation.

How do resource dates help planning?

Work orders carry planned start and end dates and a resource reference. Resources record daily capacity in minutes and an Available, Maintenance or Unavailable status. Planner uses that information with Operator to agree the production window before release.

What does it cost?

Use Pricing for the platform's free manual work and metered machine activity, model usage and retention terms. Implementation and configuration are priced separately. Estimate usage from your team's expected imports, connections and workflow activity.
