What you can do
Make the part and vehicle evidence usable
A part number alone does not explain which vehicle it fits or why a customer reported a failure. Vehicle fitments connect a part to the vehicle make, model and model year. Warranty claims record the vehicle VIN, failure date and requested amount against that part. Industry Specialist prepares the evidence for Industry Reviewer, who makes the compatibility or claim decision through the agreed review action. Keep the vehicle description precise enough that another person can check the same case without relying on the specialist’s memory.
How the work is organized
Fitment review and warranty review use different records. A Verified fitment is compatibility evidence; an Approved claim is a claim decision. Neither status establishes that a payment cleared or that the claim belongs to a particular shipment.
- Prepare compatibility evidence. Industry Specialist enters make, model and model year against the selected part. Fitment status separates Review, Verified and Withdrawn evidence.
- Inspect the reported failure. A warranty claim retains the vehicle VIN and failure date with the requested amount. Submitted and Inspection distinguish intake from a reviewed claim.
- Keep the decision controlled. Industry Reviewer checks the evidence independently. Agree which decisions need that review and keep the specialist responsible for preparing the part and vehicle details.
What to agree during setup
Agree required vehicle identifiers, who checks compatibility and what evidence supports Approved or Rejected claims. Define how a withdrawn fitment affects future decisions without removing earlier evidence. Agree the evidence the reviewer needs when coverage depends on the original sale, including who provides it and how the reviewer checks it. Set up payout confirmation as a separate connection. Keep the approved decision and confirmed payment distinguishable during rehearsal.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A replacement pump is proposed for a vehicle model after a part revision. Industry Specialist selects the pump and enters the precise vehicle make, model and model year, leaving fitment status at Review. Industry Reviewer compares the evidence and records the compatibility decision through the agreed action. A different model year must remain a separate compatibility question.
Later, a failure is reported against that pump with a vehicle VIN. The specialist records the failure date and requested claim amount. The reviewer checks the claim through Inspection before deciding Approved or Rejected. Ask both people to explain how they established the vehicle and part match. If the decision requires shipment evidence, ask the specialist to prepare that evidence and the reviewer to explain how it supports the claim. Replay the claim command and inspect the result before allowing any payout transition.
