Who it's for

Specialty practices

A specialty practice often relies on a small set of devices whose identity and service evidence matter to clinicians. The app connects the asset to work orders, calibration and device identifier records. A coordinator needs to see the upcoming work; a clinician needs the right equipment and work order; a reviewer needs dated evidence. Those questions should lead back to the same device record.

How Medical Equipment Tracking is set up for you

Device identity

Use the asset tag, recorded UDI and identifier type to keep equipment identity clear during service review.

Calibration evidence

Record measurement type, value, unit and date under the service work order.

Qualified person

Check technician certification evidence and its effective dates for the person doing the work.

Repair trace

Record part name, lot, quantity and authorizing person when a repair consumes a part.

Start with one frequently serviced device. Enter its asset record and current technician assignment, then open a work order with a calibration reading or part usage entry. Ask the Clinical Reviewer to trace the evidence back to the asset and work order. Confirm that the team knows how to handle a Rejected identifier and an Amended work log.

Keep the initial review close to a real operating cycle. Check an Active device, a due task, a Scheduled order and a permit whose dates the team can verify. Compare the work order with its signed log before changing it to Completed. If a task is Escalated or a permit is Expired, leave that state visible for the person resolving it.

See the [equipment service cycle](/medical-equipment-tracking/processes/equipment-service-cycle) and [implementation plan](/medical-equipment-tracking/implementation) for the handoffs to rehearse. The [data model](/medical-equipment-tracking/data-model) shows how the asset, technician and work records connect.
