What you can do

Check permission to work

A signed permit belongs to a particular asset and has its own document, version and expiry date. A technician certification belongs to a person and has a status, issuer, evidence and effective dates. A technician assignment links that person to equipment for a defined period. The people preparing a visit check all three records against the planned service date.

How the work is organized

  • Check the asset permit. Match its asset and version to the device being serviced. Read the signed and expiry dates together.
  • Check the person. Compare the technician assignment period and certification status with the service date. A Verified status alone does not establish that the dates cover the visit.
  • Record the human decision. The Licensed Clinician signs the permit after review. Clinical Governance Administrator maintains the person, assignment and certification records.

A permit names its asset and carries a version, document, signed date and expiry date. A certification names a technician, its issuing authority, license number, verification evidence and effective period. An assignment links a technician to an asset for a stated purpose and window.

What to agree during setup

Agree which permit types the team uses, who signs a permit and how expiry is handled. Define when a certification becomes Verified and who records its issuing authority and evidence. Treat the effective dates as part of the review, not as a note in a file name. Agree how staff handle corrections so that an amended or cancelled record remains understandable. Use a pilot device and an ordinary clinician account to test the language before relying on the screen in daily work.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Use one technician with an Active assignment and a Verified certification. Compare the assignment and credential dates with the proposed service date. Then inspect a Pending permit for that asset and the signed version used for work. Ask the receiving role to find the record without a verbal explanation from the person who entered it. If a date, person or source link is ambiguous, resolve the naming rule with the team before opening a wider operating cycle.

What your team sees

  • Permits awaiting signature — Find pending permits by asset, type, version and expiry date.
  • Technician certification review — Compare the person, issuer, status and effective dates before a visit.

Open the source record for the dates, status and linked evidence before changing the next record. Business Overview shows work order intake, current maintenance states and recent specialty evidence for a daily check.

Follow the work through

Follow the equipment service cycle to see how planning, service evidence and review fit together. The data model lists each record and its references. Use implementation to plan a small first cycle with real assets and users.
