Prepare the next decision with Proto

Ask Proto to prepare project, room and delivery information for review.

It can

  • Project Manager: List active packages due this week with their owner and client project.
  • Designer: Compare planned and actual hours for the tasks in a room package.
  • Reviewer: Gather the current room revision and its shared evidence for a decision.
  • Operations Lead: Show failed receipts with their expected revision and linked package.

Stays with a person

  • A room decision and package acceptance belong to the authorized Reviewer and Project Manager.
  • Proto can gather records and prepare a change, but the person making the decision checks the current revision, evidence and organization scope.
  • A receipt is complete only when the expected effects match the linked records.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Agree the operating boundary

Choose the studio organization, client project and a design package with a clear owner. Identify who decides room revisions and who accepts completed delivery.

  2. Map the source data

Bring project codes, site contacts, package record numbers and team identities into a consistent organization scope. Preserve existing revision and decision references.

  3. Configure a bounded pilot

Use one client site with a room concept, task lines, supporting files and a named Reviewer. Compare planned and actual task hours.

  4. Rehearse the exceptions

Return a room revision, change future task work without changing completed history, and investigate a failed receipt against its linked effects.

  5. Review and release

Confirm access, decisions, dates and reports with the Studio Lead and Project Manager. Retain an export of the source and agree the cutover window.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure PM for Interior Design for your business. Pilot one client project, one work package and a room revision with supporting evidence and a named Reviewer.

What is a work package?

It is an owned unit of design work linked to a client project. It carries a due date, budgeted hours, revision and delivery status.

Can we track task effort?

Yes. Task lines record planned and actual hours, due dates and completion dates. Operations Overview compares hours by project.

How is a room decision recorded?

A room approval carries the room, revision, mood board revision, status, decision date and approved budget when applicable. Keep supporting files with the parent work package.

Who approves a revision?

Use a Reviewer separate from the person who prepared the work. Record the decision and reason against the current revision.

Can the team share design files?

Attachments can be marked Internal or Shared. Agree the intended audience before marking a file shared.

What happens when the scope changes?

Preserve the original package and completed task history. Prepare a successor revision for unaccepted work and have the Reviewer decide it.

How do we inspect overdue work?

Operations Overview shows overdue task load by owner. Open the task and its parent package to decide the next action.

Does this place purchase orders?

The room approval holds a design decision and approved budget. Connect your purchasing process for vendor orders.

Can we migrate existing projects?

Start with organization and user identities, then projects, packages and their child records. Preserve record numbers, revisions and decision keys during import.
