Ask Proto to prepare the review

Use Proto to inspect project weeks, prepare review questions and check recorded outcomes.

It can

  • Team Member: Show my dated entries for this week and the projects and tasks they name.
  • Project Manager: Summarize entry approval outcomes and weekly records awaiting a decision, grouped by project context.
  • Delivery Lead: List blocked tasks, open issues and failed operation receipts that need follow-up.
  • Reviewer: Trace an approved entry from its source status to the recorded decision and receipt.

Stays with a person

  • Proto can prepare a review, but the Project Manager makes the weekly approval decision.
  • The team must agree which project and work package a worker's hours belong to, resolve disputed time and inspect failed receipts before retrying an operation.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Map ownership

Choose the organization, project manager, delivery lead, team member and reviewer for the pilot.

  2. Prepare project work

Enter the project, package and assigned task with dates and owners.

  3. Run a week

Record dated entries and submit the weekly record with positive hours and a valid revision.

  4. Decide and inspect

Submit an eligible entry and approve the weekly record, then compare the source statuses with decisions and receipts.

  5. Test exceptions

Try invalid hours, an invalid weekly revision and issue triage without severity; verify the blocked result and receipt.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Timesheet Management for your business. Begin with one project, one work package, an assigned task and a representative week of time.

What does a weekly submission include?

It records the worker, week beginning date, work package, organization, hours, revision and status. The Project Manager decides it separately from the entry approval that starts on submission.

Can time be logged against a task?

Yes. Each entry requires a team member and project, and can also reference a task. The manager should check that the task belongs to the intended project.

Who approves submitted entries?

Setting an entry to Submitted starts Time Entry Approval. A valid entry with positive hours becomes Approved, with a review decision and operation receipt. The Project Manager inspects the outcome.

What is checked before a weekly timesheet is approved?

The weekly approval checks that hours are positive, the record is still Submitted and the revision is valid. A blocked attempt leaves the submission unchanged and records a failed receipt.

Where can a manager find pending work?

Timesheets Awaiting Approval lists entries still Submitted. Weekly Submissions Awaiting Approval focuses on submitted weekly records. The Operations Overview brings weekly submissions and review posture into one place.

How are delivery issues handled?

An Open issue with severity can move to Triaged through Issue Triage. A blocked attempt writes a failed receipt so the delivery lead can correct the problem.

Can the team see why work is late?

Tasks carry status, dates and hours. Issues, risks and milestones record delivery exceptions against projects, giving the manager context for the week under review.

How do reviewers check an approval?

They compare the source record with its review decision and operation receipt. Failed Operations shows attempts that did not complete.
