What you can do
Release work with a usable operating basis
Production Planner prepares a work order for the intended product, customer order and resource. Planned quantity and start and end dates explain what the team expects to run. Review the customer demand and resource availability before releasing work, using the engineering evidence to confirm the design basis the operating team needs.
The production release action requires a Draft work order, an Approved linked customer order, positive planned quantity, an Available resource and feasible planned dates. It freezes the release input and marks the work order Released. The planner can then hand eligible work to Inventory Controller and Operator with the release result available for inspection.
How the work is organized
- Approved demand. Select the intended customer order and inspect its item lines and required date. Agree who maintains the customer-order approval before the release action checks it.
- Feasible plan. Inspect planned quantity and start and end dates together with the selected resource. Resolve missing or inconsistent input while preparing the work order.
- Available resource. Check the resource’s current state and daily capacity context. A resource marked Maintenance or Unavailable needs resolution before it can satisfy the release action.
What to agree during setup
Agree how customer orders and their item lines arrive, who reviews them and how the team records Approved demand. Define the date convention used for planned work and confirm what each resource represents. Production Planner needs a dependable way to hear about availability changes before a Draft work order is released.
The schedule gives the team a shared view of planned intervals. Agree how detailed production scheduling is handled in your operation and set up a connection if that work belongs in another tool. Bring an ordinary job and a resource-unavailable case to the pilot. The planner should explain the chosen quantity, dates and resource from the operating evidence before invoking release.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Prepare a work order for the changed housing product against an Approved customer order. Select an Available resource, enter a positive quantity and choose feasible planned dates. Run the release action and inspect the Released result and retained release basis. Explain the next material and production actions against that same work order.
Repeat the preparation with a Draft customer order, then with a resource in Maintenance. Each case should fail its release check with a reason the planner can resolve. Restore eligible input through the authorized preparation path before trying again. Also test an infeasible planned interval and confirm that it cannot be released as ordinary work.
After a successful release, Inventory Controller selects eligible material stock. Operator prepares valid interval evidence for production. Batch preparation belongs to that production action; the release handoff should leave the team clear about which operating step has actually completed. Ask each participant to retrieve the same work-order identity and explain the next action before opening the pilot.
What your team sees
- Production schedule — Review planned start and end dates with the selected product, quantity and resource.
- Production release inbox — Inspect Draft work before invoking the release action.
- Available resources — Find the resource identities that satisfy the availability prerequisite.
Follow the work through
Release production rehearses the prerequisites. Post lot-based materials follows the stock handoff. Use implementation to agree the pilot.
