Prepare the next review with Proto

Use Proto to prepare retail measurement work for a named human decision.

It can

  • Measurement Owner: Prepare a dated snapshot with its organization, store definition and consent basis for review.
  • Retail Analyst: Compare accepted basket facts, source coverage and the component values behind a metric result.
  • Independent Reviewer: Summarize the evidence and source revision before the reviewer records a decision.
  • Operations Lead: List open follow-up actions by assignee and due date, with their source snapshots.

Stays with a person

  • Proto can prepare context and suggest the next record to inspect.
  • A named person approves a metric definition, decides a snapshot revision and closes corrective work.
  • Source connections, credentials and publication destinations are set up for the customer's environment.
  • The team checks the operation trace and source evidence before treating a result as reviewed.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Set measurement scope

Choose an organization, measured property, store definition and completed reporting period. Agree consent basis and source identity.

  2. Prepare inputs

Record the source mapping and capture window, then collect a bounded set of basket facts under the dated snapshot.

  3. Review the rule

Draft the metric definition, work a normal and zero-denominator example, and have the Independent Reviewer decide the rule.

  4. Rehearse a case

Check the observation, result and operation trace. Return one snapshot revision for correction and approve the corrected revision.

  5. Run follow-up

Assign a stale-source or result exception with a due date; close it only after the source and review outcome are clear.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Retail Analytics.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Retail Analytics for your business. Pilot one measured property, one completed period, a consented basket-fact scope and a reviewer decision before expanding.

What does the snapshot represent?

It is a dated measurement linked to an organization, a store definition and an owner. Its source identity and revision help the team inspect the exact case behind a result.

How are basket facts reviewed?

The analyst can inspect pending, accepted and rejected facts under their parent snapshot. Source references, observed dates and consent basis help explain each fact.

Can a reviewer return a measurement?

Yes. A review decision can be returned with a reason and tied to a specific snapshot revision. The owner can address the issue and present a revised case.

How do we understand a conversion result?

Open its metric definition, period, numerator, denominator, row count and linked run. Read the source window before comparing it with another period.

What happens when a source is stale?

The source capture records freshness and coverage. Assign a follow-up action to check the capture and the affected observation or result.

Can we compare different stores?

Use store definitions and the same approved metric interpretation for the periods being compared. Check effective dates and source mappings when event meaning changes.

Who decides publication?

The Measurement Owner handles the snapshot lifecycle after an Independent Reviewer records the decision for its exact revision.

Where do upstream events come from?

Connect the retailer's event source during implementation. Keep stable source references, coverage and consent context with the resulting facts.
