AI agent

Prepare the next decision

Use an assistant to prepare return cases while people retain review decisions.

It can

  • Inventory Clerk: Find an open stock request, list its linked return grade and show the item and locations to check before submission.
  • Inventory Supervisor: Bring a submitted grade, request quantity and attachments together for a decision on the current revision.
  • Auditor: Trace a request through review decision, movement, reversal and operation receipt.

Stays with a person

  • A person decides whether the inspection grade is acceptable and whether the request scope can be released.
  • The assistant can prepare the case and show differences.
  • Stock posting and correction must use the authorized actions with their revision and operation-key checks.
  • A receipt marked failed calls for investigation, not an invented success result.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Map the warehouse

Load the organization, active storage locations, team members and stock items. Agree item tracking modes and the initial lot position.

  2. Set review ownership

Assign clerks and supervisors. Agree the return reference, disposition language and evidence needed for a partial acceptance.

  3. Rehearse a return

Draft and submit a grade, make an independent decision, release the current request scope and execute the approved stock action.

  4. Exercise exceptions

Try a stale decision, a rejected grade, an insufficient reservation and a posted movement that needs reversal.

  5. Check the evidence

Compare request quantity, movement totals, lot balance and operation receipts before widening the rollout.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Returns Processing Center for your business. Begin with one location, a small item set and a representative return that needs grading and supervisor review.

Who records a return grade?

Inventory Clerk links the grade to a stock request and records the return reference, accepted units and disposition.

Who decides the grade?

Inventory Supervisor approves or rejects a submitted grade. The person who created it cannot make that decision.

When does inventory change?

An approved request changes inventory when its execution posts a signed movement to the lot. The movement and operation receipt show the result.

Can a request be executed twice after a retry?

The stock action uses a stable source effect key. A retry returns the existing posting for that request action.

How is a shortage handled during reservation?

The action checks free eligible lot quantity after held reservations. An excessive request is refused and a failed operation receipt records the shortfall.

Can an incorrect posting be removed?

Inventory Supervisor posts a linked compensating movement. The original remains in the movement ledger.

How can I check that a return is complete?

Compare the authorized request quantity with posted movement totals and review the verification operation receipt.

Where are photos and documents kept?

Record Attachments link them to the stock request, so the grade and decision can be reviewed with the case.
