What you can do

Fitment review in daily work

Fitment checks give a vehicle-specific question its own record under a stock request. Vehicle model, model year and OEM reference carry the evidence for review, while status and revision track the checked assertion. The request, decision and resulting records give each person a way to trace what changed and who acted.

For a replacement component, Inventory Coordinator records the vehicle model and year and the OEM reference cited for the match. Inventory Reviewer decides on that check revision. An approved fitment check supports the case, but it does not itself change the request from Review to Approved.

How the work is organized

  • Set the scope. Start with the organization and part, then confirm the request location and any lot used for the case.
  • Keep the decision. Inventory Reviewer checks the submitted revision and records a decision with a reason.
  • Trace the effect. Inventory Coordinator follows the reservation or posted movement back to the approved request.

What to agree during setup

Agree the evidence source for model and year, how an OEM reference is captured, and when a check must be revised. Keep distinct SK us distinct even where reference numbers overlap. Decide who can submit a check and who can make the independent decision. Inventory Coordinator and Inventory Reviewer should rehearse the usual case and an exception using the same request.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Use two SK us with a shared reference but different item identities. Submit a fitment check under one request, then record Inventory Reviewer decision. Confirm the check retains its parent and revision, and confirm the parent stock request still requires its own review decision. Inventory Coordinator shows the source request; Inventory Reviewer explains the decision on its revision. Auditor traces the outcome without changing records. Pause a case with a mismatched item, location, lot or revision before another action.

For the pilot, use a replacement part that fits one vehicle model year but has an OEM reference also used on another SKU. Inventory Coordinator should keep the selected item on the parent request while Inventory Reviewer decides only the submitted vehicle assertion. Review the parent request separately before any quantity changes.
