What you can do

Locations and organizations in daily work

Organizations give stock work an ownership boundary. Storage locations belong to an organization and provide the named sites used on requests, reservations and movements. Team members connect a person and platform identity to that same organization. The request, decision and resulting records give each person a way to trace what changed and who acted.

A depot can receive a part while a second location acts as the counterparty for a move. Record both locations and check that the request belongs to the intended organization. The contact and eligibility note give operators local context at the point of selection.

How the work is organized

  • Set the scope. Start with the organization and part, then confirm the request location and any lot used for the case.
  • Keep the decision. Inventory Reviewer checks the submitted revision and records a decision with a reason.
  • Trace the effect. Inventory Coordinator follows the reservation or posted movement back to the approved request.

What to agree during setup

Agree organization codes, time zones, currency and which sites are active. Decide who maintains a location address and contact, and how a team member gets an active user identity. Keep membership administration separate from a review decision on stock work. Inventory Coordinator and Inventory Reviewer should rehearse the usual case and an exception using the same request.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Choose a request owned by Inventory Coordinator and referring to a depot and counterparty. Check the organization on the request against the owner and locations. Review a movement created from the case and confirm it uses the same item and intended location. Inventory Coordinator shows the source request; Inventory Reviewer explains the decision on its revision. Auditor traces the outcome without changing records. Pause a case with a mismatched item, location, lot or revision before another action.

For a depot transfer, confirm which location sends the item and which one receives it. Inventory Coordinator records the case under the intended organization; App Administrator checks both location codes and active membership. Inventory Reviewer then checks that the proposed movement remains within that scope before deciding on the request.

What your team sees

  • Active requests board — Active requests board groups draft, review and approved cases so location scope can be checked.
  • Due stock requests — Inventory Coordinator checks required dates, owners and locations before preparing the next case.
  • Posted movements — Auditor checks signed quantities and reversal links against the request.

Follow the work through

Follow the request review and verified stock effect processes. Use the data model when preparing linked records.
